I have a php mySQL database search, etc and I want it to work in a wordpress page I will create called “Search”. How can I put PHP into a wordpress page?

Having some issues getting plugins to initiatize on any BP generated link. Wondering if anyone has some clues! Recently Andy changed the priority on which bp_catch_uri comes up and it seems to be trumping my plugins now on any BP generated pages.
The plugin in question is a “members-only” plugin that checks if a user is logged in and if not, gives them the login page. The action that is loaded is:
add_action('init', 'members_only_init');Since that loads after template_loaded, I tried that:
add_action('template_loaded', 'members_only_init');Still didn’t work, so I even tried to go to the very first loaded action!
add_action('plugins_loaded', 'members_only_init');Changing priority on any of these doesn’t help.
Afraid to say that it must be something else that is trumping my plugin from loading. It works on pages that bp_catch_uri isn’t loading including the main home page, any actual blog link (off the “news” page) and all blog pages on the network. Just not the BP pages.

WordPress has a group todo list for the blog but it is in the admin settings.

Two things i have noticed in Site Wide Activity.
Deleted posts from the sub domain blogs remain after being deleted.
And the alignment and caption code using wordpress media to insert an image shows up as part of the quote.

I have already skinned up a members theme, home theme and a host of blog themes for my users.
Its not hard at all, infact just like normal wordpress themes so expect to see a load available soon.
One thing i wish was easier was controlling the page names / urls buddy press assigns as default.
I have manually changed all references but when i upgrade my changes will be reversed
It would be helpful to add a more intuitive link between BuddyPress and the WordPress Dashboard and “Add a Post†functions.
A suggestion would for users own profiles on the “My Blogs†screen to provide an “Add a Post†link under each users blog.
Otherwise new users not familiar with Blogging tend to keep clicking on “Create a Blog†and creating multiple blogs. When what they want to do is add a post to their existing default blog created during registration. This is a real usability issue for new users.
Also, in the “My Blogs†vertical navigation bar there should be links to New Post and Dashboard for the initial default blog.
Hey, newbie here to the whole WordPress / BuddyPress world. I have an existing on-line portal/mag/social network at http://www.doorQ.com. We’re looking at moving the entire thing from its limited dotnet framework over to the open source BP. We know there will be a few issues with the data conversion, but I have some people comfortable enough with SQL to make that work.
What I was looking at is combining the social networking with the magazine features, to try to replicate what we have going now. I wanted to use a theme like this: “www.woothemes.com/demo/gazette/” as the main page for the site, have a few of the social networking aspects pop up on that page (like most recent or active members along with their icons) and then have a second page that aggregates all of the social network activity.
Make sense so far?
Here are my questions:
1) If I use the gazette or similar theme, make it the default theme for the BP install, and add the various components to the appropriate theme folders, I can then draw on the PHP script to add whatever buddy features I’d like to any of the pages created by that theme? Like having the currently on-line members appear on the page?
2) For what is now the BP home page — listing recent activity, users, etc — I can then hard code that as a page on the site, so that, from the main magazine page, there is a link that says something like “Social Network?”
I want everything to be interlinked, the way things are now, on my existing site. In theory, this should work, right?
I’me getting this error when I try to upload any avatar:
“Upload Failed! Error was: The uploaded file could not be moved to the upload folder.”
Normal WordPress uploads are working fine.
