In reply to: Two usability questions
@mercime
Participant@zane 1a.) There is a reply link in every topic post if you’re using default bbPress forums in your installation.
e.g.1. In this topic you started, when you hover a post a line shows up on the bottom right corner of each post with different links including the “Reply” link which will bring you to the reply form at the bottom.
e.g.2. In this screenshot of a default forum topic layout you’ll see the “Reply” link along with other links are shown at the top of every post in that page.
Please check with your theme author why you’re not seeing the Reply link in your theme.

You could use:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/private-community-for-bp-lite/
and in the plugins settings use wp-login.php as the redirect.October 11, 2013 at 9:11 pm #172709In reply to: WP search results page kills BP member widgets

ParticipantPlease don’t ‘hijack’ other people’s topics.
Are you logged out when you go to the register / activate pages? If not then what you describe is normal behaviour as those pages are redundant when you are logged in.
If you are still having problems please start a different topic and provide more relevent details – see https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/

ParticipantI have a similar problem. I set all the pages, but when trying to open the registration page the system goes to the front page.

ParticipantNot sure it’s a custom hack…
In WordPress admin, I go to Profile Fields
Then, I have three profile groups in there. The third one is where this budget field sits.
It’s only available to certain user types, which is why it’s in a separate profile group.
However, as far as I know @bphelp – none of this is custom or a hack, this is standard BP functionality? Then using this snippet to show the output on the front end:
<div id="profileProjectSize"> <?php $data=bp_get_member_profile_data(array('field'=>'Budget')); echo $data; ?> </div>October 11, 2013 at 12:05 pm #172669bp-help

As @modemlooper stated you should not use that plugin. Please review:
You would build a theme like any standard WordPress theme.October 10, 2013 at 9:15 pm #172634In reply to: Email after activation

MemberYou could also try Welcome Pack by Paul Gibbs – it allows you to send a welcome email and also customise the various more emails BuddyPress sends out:

Moderator?s=band will only search within Post and Page content.
If you want to search by user role, you will need a custom search function.And your 404 means you don’t have a basic search page set up.

ParticipantYou can setup a network and use bp-multinetwork (free plugin – search wordpress.org). So you have the possibility to setup two different bp-networks with one common userbase. To hide things from logged out users there are a few plugins available (search buddypress.org).

ParticipantKindly try and use the below plugin :
https://wordpress.org/plugins/multisite-user-management/
It would allow you to specify the role of any new user on your network on different sites.

ParticipantAces! You are Aces! That’s exactly what I was trying for. I believe it needs to be either included in the codex, or as a checkbox “Enable default WordPress Registration”
Thanks!

ParticipantWe’ll see more patches from you in the future, yes?
@mercime I hope so.You should be able to run a tortoise checkout with this url.
https://svn.buddypress.org/trunk
@hnla For the patch I submitted, I had used https://buddypress.svn.wordpress.org/trunk/ Should I use https://svn.buddypress.org/trunk instead? Do the 2 URLs point to different resources?October 9, 2013 at 12:09 am #172510In reply to: How can I change the text to make it literate?

MemberBuddyPress with the help of the right plugins from the WordPress plugin repository (https://wordpress.org/plugins/) can do everything you’ve mentioned.
11. Projects: Members can start projects and invite other members to join (kind of groups)
This is the one point I’m not sure about off the top of my head. It may need some custom code as I’m not aware of a plugin that does this.

Participant@mercime Using Tortoise SVN.
Tried importing https://buddypress.svn.wordpress.org/trunk/ but getting
Error: POST of ‘/!svn/me’: 403 Forbidden (http://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org)
@idavidson I apologize for hijacking your thread.October 8, 2013 at 10:22 pm #172498coutain
ParticipantI’m also having the same issue. I even installed a fresh wp 3.6.1 and a fresh version of 1.8.1 with no other plugins.
Under BuddyPress pages this is no Register or Activate page available.
