All users are marked as spam.. I was reading on some earlier issues and everyone is marked as a spammer upon registration in the extended profile tab. There are also no groups in the extended profile tab which is odd and I cant create it without it giving me an error saying“There was an error saving the group. Please try again”

Neither does the vast majority of the drop-downs in the upper right corner; also takes me to a blank pages.
I have tried testing in several themes including Twenty-Twelve and Twenty-Fourteen. The same issues are present using these themes too.

ParticipantUnfortunately downgrading to PHP 5.4 is not an option, as I use some of the fancy PHP 5.5 syntax enhancements on other areas of the page.
Seems like I’ll have to wait for either a major PHP update that solves this miracle or a BuddyPress update that does.
Strange though, that the error is reproducible but untraceable … Ah well, maybe I am simply too bad as server admin 😉

ParticipantFWIW – I just downgraded from PHP 5.5 to PHP 5.4 and it works again. Not sure what is causing the incompatibility however, other than the errors posted above.

ParticipantHiya, I just did all that, deactivate all plugins and started again, using BP 2.0.1, then turned on bbpress 2.5.4, the perma links are set, I have no idea why it’s still not working, and I have the twentyfourteen theme active

ParticipantI also have this problem running WordPress 3.9.1, BuddyPress 2.0.1 and BBPress 2.5.4. It’s only been the case since I moved over to BBPress for forums.
I’m happy to help anyone who’s trying to fix this apparent bug.

ParticipantNovice here… this should be fun. (July 2014)
I got someone to import users in to my sweetdate (2.6.1)/buddypress (2.5.4) site. The users are there in the WordPress users, but not in the Buddypress site. They don’t even show up in the Pending Activation. I can see them in the SQL Database.
How can I migrate them in to the Buddypress members, searchable, database.
Thanks in advance.

ModeratorAs per your original post you are using bbPress v2.5.4, the
bb_forumstable are part of the legacy BuddyPress Group Forums/bbPress v1.x Forums.bbPress 2.x no longer uses these tables, all of bbPress 2.x forums, topics and replies are in the
wp_poststable as custom post types.If you look in the bbPress Forums panel and hover your mouse over or edit one of the forums you will see the post ID in the URL, you will find that (educated guessing here) that most of your forums have a six digit ID’s?
Each of those ID’s should correspond to the bbPress 2.x Forum attached to each BuddyPress Group Forum as you see in your
wp_groups_groupmetatable.So if you look in the
wp_groups_groupmetatable at your group ID26and that127650value does NOT match the bbPress forum ID you expect it should match.Grab the correct bbPress forum ID and write down the current ID if you need to revert, bakcup your database etc etc) then update that value and I think you should be sorted.

ParticipantAh I just read the last paragraph (I should do that from now on, sorry!)
Can you look at your error logs?
It prob is using a new php.ini file, which by default 5.4 doesn’t allow <? ?> you have to use <?php ?>, that’s something it could be.
honestly without looking at your error logs its a best guess.

ParticipantYour website is loading here. This might be something to do with your browser cache, or DNS resolver (perhaps they MIGRATED you to another server with php 5.4 on it? most likely!!)
You can follow this tutorial to set your DNS to google’s servers which is guaranteed to be faster than your ISP:

ParticipantHi @keiser-media @celticdancer,
The usual answer in this case is: these notice are only notice. A kind of weather report: all hear and read about, but who cares ?
If you see the notice on a production site, deactiveate the debug define in wp-config.
Don’t be afraid by “strict standards” messages. It’s probably because you use PHP 5.4.x or higher. These versions are a little bugy actually. And most shared server are yet under 5.3.x
PS: i encounter the same problem (php 5.4.12) 😀

ParticipantHi there !
I was exposed to the same issue today, with BP 1.7.2 and WP 3.5.2.
Solved by checking the php version of the site, the php version should be 5.4 ( use the function <? phpinfo(); ?> to check that.
Other thing, like have said @baskers, ensure you have only lower caps in your url.
Hope my reply would help someone else ! 🙂

https://i18n.trac.buddypress.org/browser?order=nameInstall Tortoise and use same credentials as here to connect for upload.
Aside, the id_ID wasn’t updated since 1.5.4 on SVN. Perhaps try to contact the latest author @sofyand

I am not certain but it sounds like a php 5.4+ error.
Try adding this code to your themes functions.php between the opening and closing php tags:
`
error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_PARSE);
`
I am not saying this is a fix but it seemed to help me on several installations. Please still supply the info @mercime requested in case there is a better solution.April 2, 2013 at 9:28 pm #159723In reply to: Cannot post drug names

Sorry I accidently forgot to deactivate one plugin and once I did the below error went awayAlso after you press the block button the text “block” turns into “error!”
The plugin that caused the error was a modified version of the friends-only-activity-stream plugin so now its gone. Is there a way to turn those debug messages on and off?
I’m using Windows 7, XAMPP PHP 5.4.7, FF 12, and Chrome.
Hope this helps.March 12, 2013 at 8:25 pm #156143In reply to: Warning: Creating default object from empty value

Participant@djaul just out of curiosity is this error a defect of BP 1.6.4 or more of an incompatibility with PHP 5.4+ ? Thanks!

ParticipantThe error occurs in PHP 5.4+
This is not really a fix but it should stop the error. Add it to your active themes functions.php
`
/* Stop errors if any */
error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_PARSE);
/* End stop Errors */
