@mercime
Participant@myhero I suggest that you get myarcadeplugin to work perfectly first in a plain WP install before you activate BuddyPress and use the BP Arcade theme. Best places to ask for support are at theme author’s or arcade plugin’s forums.

ParticipantThanks. Oh @modemlooper, will you be updating your buddypress-mobile plugin?
I have many things I can say that will help improve it – are you still willing to work on it?

MemberI experienced the same thing.
When I clicked on “settings” with the Buddypress plugin, i get the same message:
“you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”When I ran the installation wizard and clicked on “active” or “must-use” under the components section. I get the same message.
BTW, I’m using Politic theme from envato.
Would appreciate any advise on how to proceed.

ParticipantI’ve kept looking and looking but I can’t seem to find the code which produce a link to the latest post of a topic.
Can someone in BuddyPress team share what is used in this buddypress forum to link the timestamp to the latest post?

k12onos
ParticipantThanks for the confirmation, meta caps in future releases will definitely make buddypress more powerful and customizable.
By the way, I found out on this site (http://shinephp.com/delete_users-wordpress-user-capability/) that on single site installs, wordpress checks whether user is a super admin or not based on the “delete_users” capability.
So, if anyone is planning to make someone be the admin of the buddypress, you can assign “delete_users” capability to that particular user (using your fav user role plugin).
Though, they will have access to (obviously) user deletion and some other plugin settings which checks for “is_super_admin”.
In my case it’s okay because the one I’m assigning the role to is a friend. I just don’t want them to have access to core/plugin/theme update&installs (is there anything else I should be concerned when indirectly assigning someone as super admin by the above method?).

September 20, 2012 at 11:52 pm #142193In reply to: Is BuddyPress a good solution for property managers?
@mercime
Participant@godleuf Using BuddyPress can be a good solution for property managers. And yes numbers 1-7 are all checks. Site Admin can be someone from the Corporate office. Each group can renamed and represent each property and the Group Admin/s can be renamed and show respective property manager/s. And “members” of each group are the respective tenants for the property. If the properties involved are more sophisticated than the one-level management set-up, you can even go multisite and choose one from two BP MultiNetwork plugins.
An experienced BuddyPress developer can set up, recommend free or premium BP/WP plugins to invest in for the rest of the site or even create the plugin from scratch.

ModeratorThe best solution is to move content to a dev server piece by piece, get everything right and then just trash the current db. BP has come a long way since 1.2 and you don’t need to hack the core as much to customize it.

ParticipantI’m also having this issue, has anybody figured out a different solution?
I tried David’s suggestion but it didn’t work for me.
I’m running WP 3.4.2 and BP 1.5.5. I have created over 150 groups, and really hope I don’t have to rebuild all of them.
Thanks!

ParticipantThank you for your quick responses! I had tried updating both WordPress and BP, but both instances crashed the site and I had to re-upload the site. Later I found comments with in the previous designer’s php comments recommending not updating. It is difficult because the site was super customized by this guy and he has recently passed away. I will try to find the correct code to remove in the header.php. Do you have any suggestions on what to look for in the code that might speed this process up?
