https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/bp-custom-php/Search is broken.
I believe the fix is ‘coming soon’ as part of a larger site update.
It will be nice when search is working.

@ChrisClayton
Participant@ktrojan Sorry, missed your reply.
With BBpress site-wide forums (bbpress 2.0 – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress/) within the forums menu (settings/forums) you can choose to allow “anonymous posting” which will allow non-members to post in it.But, that wont allow anonymous postings within a group, to do that is slightly harder (you’ll need to hire a developer) as it has an extra requirement of being a group member.

Member@mercime i see u turn around the site, i thank you! i make the changhes u ask but have same problem, now but i can’t see the effective page, because i get a brutal redirect to subsites home page, pls confirm?

Participant@mrlobaloba Please do not post admin login in these forums. That username and password have been compromised and I deleted it from your posts in this thread. I recommend that you delete that user in your installation now.
It might just be a theme issue. Change theme of http://lavori.italianproplayers.com/ to bp-default theme and check if issue is corrected. If not, deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress.

@mercime
Participant@gajananh999 Media uploads via Activity Updates:
1. BuddyPress Activity Plus – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-activity-plus/screenshots/ free
2. There’s also the premium BP Gallery plugin http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-gallery/ which also includes uploading images, audio and/or video in status updates forms in Activity Directory, Member’s activity page, and Group’s activity page.

Participant@mrlobaloba you’ve translated “Groups” and “Members” to Italian (?), so why not create a page named “Attivitia” and then go to dashboard menu BuddyPress > Pages and associate that new “Attivitia” page with the Activity Page, then Save.

Member@mercime Thanks for checking it out. I found that a (WP Minify) plugin was creating the problem.

@mercime
Participant@qrahaman I understand what you mean, I’ve seen it happen. Adding the style above will resolve the nesting even to the 16th reply-reply, all of which will go flat to the the left.

ParticipantDid you get to a satisfactory solution that you are willing to share?
Also, since you brought up the WIki example, have you been able to upload images and video on the front end with that plugin?

Memberhi guys.. just installed buddypress to this new site am building, http://gospelcast.org but i can’t seem to get the “groups” page and profiles running. when i click on the nav menu tab, it gives an error message. when i look through profiles, there seems to be no way one can create groups. what must i do then? on the right sidebar, the “create a new account” link doesnt work, it only gives error message. same is true when one uses the sign in link near the header. i also wonder how a user starts making/posting blogs after making an account. I already set new users to be “authors”, but when i look from the profiles, there is no button or link there that i can find where one clicks to start making/posting a blog. please help me on these concerns. thanks. try visiting my new site (empty) to see how these concerns appear.

ParticipantThanks. I also noticed the alignment is off on the permalinks for each update. I noticed it when I was testing links from the share buttons. I can provide a screen shot if necessary.

Participant@mercime, I’ve added several more comments to the one you referenced in testbp.org. You will see what I’m concerned about… try to add a 16th comment for laughs. This is an extreme case but I think it illustrates the point.

MemberWhen I try patch 03, it simply moves my navigation to the right in Chrome etc. .. but still stacks the navigation on top of each other in IE. It addresses the issue of the navigation items spanning the entire width of the container div, but does not display them inline.. they’re also still stacked over on the right side of the page.

ParticipantOK thanks @djpaul — i’ll make a note of it, I can’t believe I’ve only really used the admin quickpress once in 3 years. I tried it in the real world and I got a mini-activity as a result. Not a big deal but just thought I’d make note of it here on the forums too, in case anyone else uses Quickpress and notices it.

@ChrisClayton
Participant@gajananh999 It is possible. It’s rare to find something that’s not possible
The real question is “how difficult?”
The BuddyBoss commercial theme has implemented a feature that attaches an upload button to the activity updates post form – SEE: http://buddyboss.com/
Theirs also afew plugins that adds photo uploading, such as BP Albums – SEE: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-album/ but they are independent of the activity updates post form.
