KeymasterSounds like you’re halfway there; you also need https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/

Participant>> how can I have a page visible in my sidebar
Not quite sure what you mean. If you activated the Sitewide Forums, you’d find that there are bbPress widgets that you could add to your sidebar like:
– bbPress Forums List
– bbPress Topics List
– bbPress Views List
– bbPress Reply ListJanuary 25, 2012 at 3:51 am #128542In reply to: HELP! Cant Get BuddyPress To Fit In My Custom Theme!
@mercime
ParticipantFirst of all, what theme are you trying to make compatible with BuddyPress?
Did you install and activate the BP Template Pack?
Site URL?

ParticipantSorry I didn’t get to this sooner, I’m glad you resolved your problem!
For anyone else searching this same issue and landing on this thread. The file you may need to check is bb-config.php. You’ll notice it looks very similar to wp-config.php:
`// ** MySQL settings – You can get this info from your web host ** //
/** The name of the database for bbPress */
define( ‘BBDB_NAME’, ‘Your Database Name Here’ );/** MySQL database username */
define( ‘BBDB_USER’, ‘Your Username Here’ );/** MySQL database password */
define( ‘BBDB_PASSWORD’, ‘Your Database Password Here’ );/** MySQL hostname */
define( ‘BBDB_HOST’, ‘Your Host Name Here’ );`If you are unsure about any of these settings, ask your webhost.

Member@mercime Do you guys have any plan to add the search option to this forum? And unfortunately Google does not index buddypress.org forum topics. it index all other pages but not the forum topics. I tried this in google search bar to search only the buddypress forum and get nothing:
`site:https://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/ comment notification`
Although it works when you are searching groups:
`site:https://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/ comment notification`
A forum without a search option makes it useless. please please please add a search option.

MemberEverything has tidied itself up which is great… final dilemma… how can I have a page visible in my sidebar without creating a link-page to go there!? The Forum page exists via bbPress but there is nothing for the visitors to click on the Front-end… sorry if this is obvious!

Participant@robpachasa yeah, already found it and looks like it does exactly what I need, but again it looks like one complicated plugin to use, if I need the only functionality of loading one file. Cannot get where (in code) TML loads custom template and redirects wp-login.php to it.

ParticipantBP Documentation contributed by users – https://codex.buddypress.org/home/
1. Members – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-user-account-type-lite/home/ (Free)
2, Facebook – http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddypress-facebook-connect-advance-facebook-loginregistration-plugin-for-your-buddypress-based-social-network/ (Premium)
3. Classified Ads – you can use most WP plugins with BP and members may add their classifieds in the installation, but none in this category have any integration with BP that I know of. You either have to build a bridge or ask the plugin developer to add it or hire a another developer to do so.January 24, 2012 at 4:44 pm #128511In reply to: BuddyPress Template Pack: The Members Loop
@mercime
ParticipantLooking at the current HTML structure of your Members, Groups and other BP template files, each is missing some original theme divs which add background color and padding. You removed the div.padder container from BP templates and then added a new div#bp-block around the item-list-tabs to try to contain it.
Recommend the following:
1.Add back the opening div.padder and closing div per original BP template files
2. Remove the #bp-block container div you surrounded div.item-list-tabs with
3. Add the following to your stylesheet to compensate for the missing divs
`/* BuddyPress Mods */
#content div.padder {
background: #eee none;
border: 1px solid #ccc;
clear:both;
font-size: 9pt;
margin: 0 0 10px;
padding: 15px;
}`4. Use the BP style modifications used in Twenty Ten Child theme for BuddyPress https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/
5. Adjust style to taste.

MemberI only changed the header image in the theme, and it was all working ok up until a couple of days ago. I understand EM has been updated, but EM works fine when BP isn’t activated. When it is activated, BP theme won’t show events.
I’ve turned up debugging to see where it leads, will post up something tomorrow hopefully.

ParticipantYou can use Google has indexed our forums pretty well e.g. “BuddyPress.org keywords phrases”

@mercime
Participant1. You have to clarify what you mean by user’s page. You could allow each user to personalize their member profiles in some way via plugin http://buddydev.com/buddypress/allow-your-users-to-change-their-profile-page-background-using-bp-custom-background-for-user-profile-plugin/
If you meant by showing a new subdomain, that you would be giving them their own blogs in your installation, then allow them to choose which theme they want for their blog/site.2. Pictures portfolio/gallery. Two choices available at this time:
– free BP Album aka BP Media plugin – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-album/ and http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/
– premium BP Gallery plugin – http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-gallery/January 24, 2012 at 3:54 am #128485G
Participanti solved it. the developer of Suffusion Theme [https://buddypress.org/community/members/sayontan/] had included bad references to BP in the functions.php file. i edited them out, all fine now.

MemberAside from the confusing method to setup and get site-wide forums working, has anyone resolved the issue of site-wide forums not showing up in the activity stream? I am attempting to get this to work on a new installation ( WP 3.3.1 | BP 1.5.3.1 | bbP 2.0.2 ) without any luck. It is very frustrating and taking up lots of time. I’d rather not enable group forums just to have them in the activity stream. If anyone has site-wide forums only on their BuddyPress installation, working properly and integrated with the activity stream; please offer a step-by-step guide or link to one.
Thank You
