ParticipantHi Ross, have you tried deleting BP_USE_WP_ADMIN_BAR from your WP 3.3 install?

@mercime
ParticipantThis just means that there’s a extra/missing/duplicate div within the template files. What compatibility method did you use for Step 3 of the BP Compatibility method – the first method which changed 16 template files or the second method with header-buddypress.php etc?

KeymasterTry toggling forums in a given group. Uncheck “enable forum” and save, then recheck. If that works, it narrows down the issue.
Also, is it happening with new groups as well as existing ones?

ParticipantThis issue is driving us bonkers – has anyone come up with a solution please?
It all started when we moved our site (www.eradar.eu) to its own server (accessed thru cPanel). We have lost all forums and when another group is created it creates multiple groups rather than just 1 (even though the unique ID numbers are the same) – everything was working fine with our previous shared server.
I’m beginning to think it is a server side issue……
Some observations
1. Not a plugin issue – all have been tried and tested
2. Not a theme issue – was all working fine under the theme (Custom Community)
3. We are using all latest editions of WordPress, BuddyPress and BBPress…
4. We’ve followed discussion threads and deleted unique forum ids in MyPhp.Absolutely no idea what to do next……
Please help

Memberoh, while I’m asking a bunch of questions already, can you have it set so that you need approval before you can be a member of a group?
and pay for/sign up for events?December 13, 2011 at 4:36 pm #126202rossagrant
ParticipantHey Boone,
I use (BP_USE_WP_ADMIN_BAR) and am getting MASSIVE avatars in the toolbar when a person hasn’t uploaded an image and the avatar defaults to mystery man. (doesn’t seem to resize properly)
This happens in a not so big way with gravatars too.
Do I put a bug i, or are you guys aware of this?

ParticipantAnother thing worth noting, the default BP theme creates problems when viewing add new posts/pages/etc. pages.
This is probably because theme CSS is being loaded admin-side – submitted a bug – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3849

Memberit has nothing to do with privacy, it is about not getting duplicate content indexed.
It’s true, the default install of BP is SEO suicide. You need to craft your robots.txt file as well as use seopress.
One feature that seems to be lacking is the display of page numbers in meta title and desc on paginated pages.
Still trying to sort that one.

ParticipantI think @takeo hit the nail on the head with this one, Buddypress would be a billion times more amazing and revolutionary if it had the type of features he’s describing.
Right now I just have to turn off Forum Topic Activity replies, and hope they understand the difference. With some tricky css and changing the way the structure of my site is layed out i’ve been able to get your average user to understand it.. kind of.

ParticipantGreat job guys!!!!!, I noticed the toolbar too
, but one thing: if we don’t have sufficient permissions to access to the New Post Page and the Comments Moderation Page, would be better if we don’t see those links in the toolbar?

ParticipantThank you for the update @boonebgorges. I just got the upgrade email from wordpress and wanted to check before applying it. Thank you all for the quick announcement of it’s compatibility and expected turn around for the maintenance build. Truly a group of professionals! Thanks to everyone at Buddypress!

ParticipantYeah I’m not sure how Buddypress get’s pages like this indexed in google (I found this topic with a Google search).
But none of my forum topics are getting indexed by Google at all, I have a high authority site that usually get’s indexed in a couple of minutes. But Buddypress Topic Pages don’t get indexed at all.

KeymasterWe’re running WordPress 3.3 here at BuddyPress.org, and also running the 1.5.2 pre-release. Will be working out kinks to get it packaged up asap.
