ParticipantAny one tried this one? http://www.envolve.com/plugins/buddypress-chat-plugin.html
Has both private and public chat. Looks like you need to pay if you want it to pick up buddypress usernames etc…

@mercime
ParticipantDeactivate BuddyPress and BP plugins. You have to resolve your multisite installation before installing/activating BuddyPress. https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite
Post what’s in your htaccess file here or at the other forum.

Hello,
Great Code, but it unfortunately doesn’t do exactly what I want to do just yet.
I am wondering if something is possible. I am trying to create a site that is private to all non-users and directs to a page stating it is Private only and asking them to contact me on directions to register (hopefully through facebook connect). In my site, on the left sidebar are the login fields and a FB Connect button.
However, I also do not want anyone to be able to register (unchecked “anyone can register” in the wp admin settings). I basically want to approve the user as they try to fully register.
Is this possible?I found, anytime I try using your code along with the register box unchecked, an infinite loop happens. I was also thinking, even if it did work, I’m still out of luck b/c I tried using the invitation code checker and that plugin doesn’t seem to work on the news BP and WP.
I also tried using the private BP plugin and that doesn’t seem to work with FB connect.
Any suggestions?

MemberIs there any plugin that allows admin to send an html email/message to all members? Sitewide Newsletters and BuddyPress Mass Messaging only allow plain text messages to be sent.

MemberHi
Just wondering if anyone knows when BP 1.3 is out? I’ve had this bug for sometime now, similar to the one described above for Portuguese. I’ve did all the manual DB conversions etc and the end result seems to be an AJAX Groups Buddypress bug: if I type an accented Irish charecter á é í ó or ú into anywhere in the groups area, it comes up strange eg Ãr instead of ár (within an AJAX content area with sub headings of HOME MEMBERS etc) whereas on my homepage (non AJAX) it seems fine. The intial thread was here https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/from-latin1-to-uft8-issues/
If 1.3 fixes this and is out soon it would solve a major problem for me. I have been delaying properly releasing this site due to this bug and was considering migrating to another social system as I heard Buddypress was no longer supported but if that’s not true and 1.3 fixes this I’d be happy to hold on a while.
regards

ParticipantThis is not exactly what you asked for but BuddyStream allows you to import images from Flikr.

ParticipantWell because that certain page could have a missing div error, or alignment issues…
It could be some theme modifications that will need to do, custom themes take work on getting them to fit with buddypress. Will need to tinker with your CSS template to make sure the wrapper isn’t overlapping, or pushing anything down.

MemberHi,
Integration with wordpress can seem a bit complicated. I really suggest watching this :
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/basic-integration-screencast
The only difference is he is running an older version – but the process is pretty much identical. Instead of looking for the salt keys as he did though, you will see that they are generated for you and you can just paste them in (you’ll see what I mean).
Hope that helps!

dba2k10
MemberI’m not sure if it’s any help but the only clue I have is the error report pasted in the 3rd post. Whatever line of code was attempting to create the bb_posts table was conflicting or producing an error with my version of MySQL.

Member@mercime: Thank you for your response. I did not have the privacy issue, the users just did not want to see it. I tried your fix and it worked like a charm… Cheers!

ParticipantThanks for your fast answer. I already use oembedd for buddypress and videos urls are working. But when I post a image url only the link shows up?!
March 9, 2011 at 7:18 pm #107332In reply to: How can I easily post images in the activity stream?
Virtuali
ParticipantVery possible in multiple ways, to embed an image in status updates.
1. Install @r-a-y’s handy plugin, oembed for buddypress: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/oembed-for-buddypress/ Whuch gives you the ability to just post the link inside the update and it will appear. It works for videos also.
2. If you don’t want to install that plugin, you can just put the image inside image src tags: `
`
There is also an album plugin which allows your users to upload pictures in their profile albums, and then insert them into status updates.
Good luck!

@mercime
Participant@allivant I see you installed BP template pack. You will need to make adjustments to the HTML structure of the template pack files transferred over to your WP theme folder during the process. You need to download those folders and files to your computer, revise per your WP theme structure and upload revisions to theme folder in server.

MemberIt is only on buddypress pages. Does the sidebar normally shift to the left if there isn’t enough content? I didn’t think it would. That line under the Groups and Members widget should only be the width of the widget.

ParticipantWell what do you want to be done?
This isn’t really a buddypress issue, unless it’s only on buddypress pages.

Participant1st. This is a Buddypress support forum only, not questions about wordpress plugins.
2. There are many plugins out there that would fit your taste, you must go searching for the right one, not us.
3. Don’t bump posts more than once every 24 hours.

ParticipantHello, I want to display the total forum post count on the topic.php right next to the avatar.
I tried both @boonebgorges code, and the other, but all the counts some up as “2” when there clearly more than 2.
Can somebody help me?

ParticipantHmm logins should be the same here as on trac but there may be issues, we’ll put a shout out to @DJPaul @boonebgorges see if they can fix anything.
Back to validating and well formed code; of course the one bug bear in all this is the nature of plugin coding which tends to throw a huge spanner in the works, well from a theming point of view, but can be equally frustrating when you activate a plugin to find you’ll need to spend half a day hacking it to output valid code.

Participanthi,
have Wp 3.0.5 BP 1.2.7 and for me autocomplete works only for admin (code for all users by ray works too).
tried all the methods above and not only, except @xavieremerson , could you be more specific please, since I am unable to understand what exactly/how/where should be changed.
do not have any errors, simply autocomplete does not show any results for my users. Is it fixed issue in BP 1.2.8?
thanks.

Member@hnla – I second all of that. Using a Transitional DTD is about as appealing to me as switching to IE6, and repeated use of the same id in the loop is plain wrong and nasty. I’ve tried to log into trac to post there with the same credentials as I use for logging in here, but it doesn’t work.
