ParticipantBug report: if Friends are disabled in Buddypress components in the dashboard, hitting the View Thanks link in the activity stream to see who thanked an item results in the expanding div opening with an error message.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function friends_get_friend_user_ids() in

ParticipantSounds great. Will definitely add this to our BuddyPress sites after I have a chance to check out its functionality.

ParticipantIt’s not 1.2.3 I’ve mentioned this but no one responded to the point . The feature doesn’t work or didn’t work in 1.1.2 and I think but am not sure yet that it’s not working in 1.2.2.
trouble is with disabling all plugins and buddypress is that on productions sites where the issue would be apparent – difficult to recreate in a local dev environ – one doesn’t really want to do this!

ParticipantOh, wait, also important! In Buddypress Component Setup on the dashboard, I’ve got Friends (‘Allows the creation of friend connections between users.’) disabled.

ParticipantHmm.
Clicking through from an activity stream icon for an uploaded pic using BPAlbum+ yields the following error, which is very odd:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function friends_check_friendship() in
//xampp/htdocs/sitename/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-links/bp-links-classes.php on line 649So I guess that might be where the conflict is coming in. Odd, though, because I tried disabling BuddyPress Album+ earlier to check if it was causing conflicts, and it didn’t seem to solve the issues I was having with Links.
I was logged in as a testuser, different from the user account (admin) that posted the picture with BP Album+.
I know it’s a functionality error with BPAlbum+, but it’s BPLinks that is returning the error message, so I thought I’d dump it in your lap, if you want to have a look.

Hopefully a useful data point though.

I haven’t got time to contribute to the development of those plugins, but I’m always on the look out to work with other developers on future BuddyPress plugins. Ping me if you ever want to start something new!

KeymasterI have no idea which video you are referring to (I’ve seen lots); it’s probably the theme from the last version of BuddyPress (1.1).

KeymasterDisable BuddyPress and all other plugins. Does the blacklist work? If it doesn’t, it’s a WordPress problem. If they do work with WordPress, re-enable each plugin one at a time until it stops working. If BuddyPress is the culprit, please report a bug ticket on https://trac.buddypress.org/ using your username and password from this site.

ParticipantBug report: Activating ‘BuddyPress Forums Extras – Activity’ kills Quoting on my install. Same issue existed with 0.1.9b3.
Not sure what ‘Activity’ is meant to do, actually, so I’m not too worried — just wanted to check it out.
This was with ‘Forum index’, ‘RSS Feeds’ and ‘Quoting’ active only.

ParticipantWow, thanks for the link to your mod of registered-users-only-2, r-a-y. Hadn’t noticed that. Works flawlessly so far — no endless looping on Firefox.
(Man it is so hard to keep up on what’s happening here… but I guess the hubbub is a good thing.)

ParticipantMuch discussion of this has happened already.
I use the registered-users-only-2 plugin, but it has been going into infinite loops on me when logging out and loggin in as another user for testing purposes with the most recent BP update, and I haven’t tracked down what’s happening there yet.

ParticipantHi jozik,
I’m dealing with a big problem regarding Buddypress multlingual: no matter what I do, I can’t figure out how to make the BP Registration page multilingual, since the Registration/ Sign Up Fields are dynamic I guess, I don’t know how to translate them from EN to IT once I set them up??? Also because at the moment my Italian version is a mixture of the following fields to name just the first 2 that can’t be translated:
Dettagli Account (obbligatorio) –> is fine
Indirizzo Email (obbligatorio) –> is fine
Scegli una Password (obbligatorio) –> is fine
Conferma Password (obbligatorio) –> is fine
Dettagli Profilo –> is fine
Name (obbligatorio) –> here its starts since Name is set in “general settings”
Last Name (obbligatorio) –> and Last Name was added by me in “profile field setup”
…
.
.
Do you have an idea how to solve this problem? Or am I missing something? Please help!
Thanks & Grazie!!!

Anyone have an idea as to WHY BuddyPress functions can’t be accessed outsides of WP even with proper integration?

Participanthttps://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags/ is almost the pefect tool for this. It doesn’t allow you to choose which ones to bring in, it brings them all in.
I found one glaring problem though and it has to do with images in posts from other blogs. Basically when a post is made on another blog, it seems that it is automatically copied behind the scenes to the primary blog, only the title will link back to the original blog.
The problem with images, is that when wordpress gallery inserts images into a post, it uses a relative path and that is what is saved. Because that is what is brought over to the original blog, when the loop tries to display the image, it has no way of knowing what the blog id# of the image truly is.
example: http://uwcmi.org/site-blog/
the 4th article down is ‘welcome to the support blog, if you click the title, notice it takes you to another domain. I did nothing to make this happen, it is all automated. When I created the post on the other blog, it was automatically added to my primary buddypress site blog.
If I could find a way around the image problem, then at least for me it’s the perfect solution to what your asking for
oh yeah, has the same duplicate activity problem as other plugins mentioned above. solution to that lies in http://teleogistic.net/2009/12/streamlining-group-blogs/#comment-7023

KeymasterThe other option is manually requiring /buddypress/bp-core.php after the wp-blog-header.php line in bb-config.php.
Not sure what will happen.
I’ve successfully used the BuddyBar functions before in a bbPress theme using deep integration and it worked for me…

ParticipantHey everyone,
I’m dealing with a similar problem: no matter what I do, I can’t figure out how to make the BP Registration page multilingual, since the Registration/ Sign Up Fields are dynamic I guess, I don’t know how to translate them from EN to IT once I set them up??? Does anyone have an idea how to hack the register.php? Or am I missing something? Please help!

KeymasterThere are a few options:
1) Featured Posts MU – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/featured-post-mu/ – uses a template tag that you can add to your homepage template or a widget.
2) BP Sitewide Featured Posts – http://dev.benoitgreant.be/blog/2009/11/buddypress-sitewide-featured-posts/ – uses a widget, but you could setup a widgetized frontpage and then you can use this widget. You could probably also modify the code to use it as a template tag.
[EDIT]
I misread your post, Wayne.
If you want the post’s content from another blog to reside on your main blog, you should think about making the user a contributor on your main blog. Then you won’t run into this issue.
