That’s the error I get when I try to update the location of a profile.
When you say blog post you mean more than just updating the front page activity stream? (as seen here: http://testbp.org/ )
You mean actually writing a blog post?
There’s 2 ways you might go about doing it.
1. In your blog dashboard go to “Site Admin” >> “Options” and change the “Dashboard User Default Role” to Author. That will now allow every user on your site who signs up without creating a blog of their own to be able to post on your site’s main blog.
They still won’t be able to post on the front without going into the dashboard until you switch your main blog to a theme that supports front-end posting such as P2. To make the P2 theme compatible with BP install the “Buddypress Template Pack” plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/
2. Or you could instead go into your Dashboard to “Settings” >> “Reading” and set the “Front Page” to “Activity Stream”. Then install the “Oembed for Buddypress” plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/oembed-for-buddypress/
Full translation support is coming in 0.0.6, if you are interested in translating the plugin into your language please let me know and I can create the translation set over on my GlotPress install which will allow you to easily translate the strings.

managed to workaround it for now by removing STRICT from the my.ini mysql startup config.. not sure of impact.
so, now to figure out the next problem.. why the members tab says members(2) and underneath, “this group has no members”

Where in the theme files can I edit the code for an activity post that says where and when with the view and delete links. I don’t see this anywhere.

bp_core_get_userurl( $uid ) in BP 1.1.3 line bp-core.php:174,
But only function
bp_core_get_userlink in BP 1.2 bp-core.php:1096
Am I just a fool, or this function has been deprecated?

has anyone had any issues with the avatars in the sidebar? Mine are all showing up in a vertical line instead of a block. I’m using the BP Template Pack with BuddyPress 1.2.1. According to https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/bp_enable_multiblog, BP will function on any sub-blog with a BP-enabled theme, even without this setting. The explanation there
If your main site is example.com and your hosted blogs are blog_x.example.com. example.com/members would go to the members directory, and so would blog_x.example.com/members.
is a bit lost on me, I must admit. Can someone explain what that means?

In any regard I see the “forums setup” option inside buddypress, I choose “set up a new bbpress installation” and it said “All done! Configuration settings have been saved to the file..” but where are my forums? No new forum menu options appeared, are they supposed to?
No. In BP, Forums are part of Groups. Create a group, and you’ll notice it will have a forum section. Once you make a post, the forum directory will appear on the main nav.
There is a way to integrate a forums install in the more traditional way, but I suggest you have a look at the default first

I’m just trying it out on a test site but have the same problem. The groups button works, but the blogs, members and forum just reload the home page.
have since fixed the problem as per https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/500-errors-1and1-webhost#post-29415 as my hosting provider is 1and1.com
The profiles are the buddypress parts.
Apparently, groups are now pretty much dead on this site until the site is upgraded sometime in March. If you want, make a separate post for now
