Topic: Buddypress Member theme
When will the BP member theme mirror the one on this website? This setup is very, very good.
Topic: another function request
I need to translate the following link for use within buddypress
<a href="javascript: FC_invite_1to1_chat ('user name')">invite user name</a>Here is what I want to do.
I am going to add a button to each members profile page within buddypress. I believe I can get the button in there properly, but I can’t find the buddypress variables that I should use.
I need to replace ‘user name’ with the buddypress variable that returns the username of the user whose page is being viewed.
I then need to replace ‘invite user name’ with the buddypress variable that returns the ‘pretty buddypress username’
I think that one is bp_user_fullname
so would example be:
<a href="javascript: FC_invite_1to1_chat ('<? bp_user_name() ?>')"><? bp_user_fullname() ?></a>does that look like the proper syntax to return the user_login and user_nicename from the database for the members whose page it is?
btw I’m guessing that it is bp_user_name and bp_user_fullname I am NOT SURE this is correct….
sorry for such a generic question… it’s a learning experience for me
Topic: Need some function advice
I have a chat script that I am trying to integrate with buddypress.
It asks me to put the following code into the header of each page, after it’s been edited..
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=JavaScript>
var init_user = "";
/* it defines the user name to login, you can get the user name from session or cookie for example var init_user=<? php echo $_SESSION['username']; ?>; */
var init_password = "";
/* it defines the user password to login, you can get the password from session or cookie for example var init_ password =<? echo php $_SESSION[password]; ?>; if leave the init_password empty, it means login to the web messenger as a guest */
</SCRIPT>What I can’t figure out is what to put into the
init_user =
init password =
I’m guessing that buddypress/wordpressmu has a function that would be used in place of
<? php echo $_SESSION['username']; ?>the same goes for
<? echo php $_SESSION[password]; ?>I have looked in the header code for the home theme, and it seems I needed to look in the userbar.php file which I did for the function or whatever it’s called to use there, but could not find it.
Could someone please assist me?
If it helps the installation instructions I am following are from

thank you
I just set up my Buddypress yesterday and I installed the BBpress plugin so that they can be integrated together and allow my groups to have forums. I did the settings correctly. But when I try to do a test post in the forum it comes up with a error that there was a problem posting that topic. Is there something I am missing?
FYI “So, WPMU 2.8.2 with BuddyPress 1.0.3 on localhost on Windows using XAMPP 1.7.1 I have installed GD Star Rating 1.5.7, and activated it site wide. I created 5 test blogs. At this point I was able to test administration panels GDSR adds, thumbs and standard ratings in both posts and comments. I will get to multi sets in the next few days”

Hello!
I just wanted to activate BuddyPress but this error occured:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_blog_info() in /***/htdocs/******/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core.php on line 421
What’s wrong and how can I fix it?
Thanks,

Hi,
I have wpmu 2.8.2 & buddypress 1.0.3. I set up some required profile fields which appears during registration, but does not get saved into the buddypress xprofile table.
Any idea why
