Hello!
Is there a theme which looks like the BuddyPress Default Home Theme, which I could use for every Blog?
Becaus if I visit e.g. domain.com/user/blog – it only works when I’ve activated another theme as the BuddyPress Default Home Theme.
Looking forward for some answers.
Greetings
Philipp
A while ago i changed the “blogs slug” and “members slug” using the information provided in this blogpost.
I added this to my wp-config.php file.:
define ( 'BP_MEMBERS_SLUG', 'medlemmer' );
define ( 'BP_BLOGS_SLUG', 'blogger' );Everything looks good, but just today I noticed that the search function in the blogdirectory no longer works. When I search this is the url I get:
http://domain.com/blogs_SLUG/search/
The letters does not work eighter. When I try to search in the members directory I am beeing redirected to the main page, domain.com.
I am running WPMU 2.8.2 and Buddypress 1.3.
Is this a known bug?
Topic: Buddypress Widgets or not?
On testbp.org the site-wide-activity widget shows the top banner where it has icons and links to blogs, friends, groups, profile, status, clear filter; how come I don’t see it on mine even though I’m using buddypress 1.0.3 (latest)? Using wpmu 2.8.2.
Cropping full size and thumbnail when create group for buddypress 1.0.3 is not working well in Firefox. Thumbnail cropping creates a large preview image, and then at the very bottom outside of preview image it create a small box. I have to move my mouse within the small box to get certain area of preview image to be crop. Extremely hard to control.
The cropping of full size image for group is not perfect, it creates preview image, and a bigger box ontop of preview image, but I cannot change the dimensions of the box even though it allows mouse pointer to change when move your mouse to the edge of the box.
I test this with firefox 3.5.1 but not test this yet with ie.
Since upgrading to Bp 1.0.x on the site http://betsocial.net you’ll notice that the home, members, groups, etc buttons do not work as they ought to and are not picking up the correct data.
on another site http://gibcosta.com using RC1 this seems to work fine – both are set up in pretty much the same way on a vps with subdomain WPMU in the root and Buddypress in a directory
Please can anyone tell me where I’ve gone wrong here with the upgrade and why this no longer seems to work properly on http://betsocial.net.
Many thanks!
And I know I’ve got masses of signup spam on there, I’m dealing with it!
Topic: Can’t Create New Blogs
1. I am running version 2.8.2 of WPMU
2. It is installed as a directory install
3. It is in the http://family-quilt.com/blogs/ subdirectory.
4. This is a new installation, not an upgrade
5. It was not an upgrade so the functionality has never worked.
6. I am using version 1.0.3 of Buddypress
7. BuddyPress was a new install, not an upgrade.
8. No other plugins are installed and activated yet.
9. I am using the default BuddyPress theme. Just changed the logo slightly.
10. I have not modified any core files other than adding a forums link to the header.php on the themes.
11. I have no custom functions in bp-custom.php (yet).
12. I am running the latest version of bbPress but
13. There have been no errors in the server log files that I can find.
I’m new to mu and I just did two version 2.8.2 installs on my account in two different domains. One works and one doesn’t but I don’t know what I could have done differently. I have the settings in each one set to the same thing. These are the first time I have tried this with mu although I’m very familiar with WordPress.
I also added the BuddyPress plugin and themes. And I’ve got bbPress installed.
In the one that does not work, which is the first one I installed, what happens is that when you click on the Create Blog link you end up on your profile page instead. Every time.
It will not go to the create blog screen no matter what.
I’ve deleted the database tables and have re-installed. I’ve re-uploaded all of the files. Still the same weird thing happening.
I’m just using the subfolder like /blogs/membername not any fancy domain mapping or anything.
I could sure you some help to figure this out. Thanks in advance.

Heya,
I am wondering if anyone out there would be interested in collaborating on a project to integrate CCHost as used on CCMixter) with BuddyPress? I am not really a developer, and can barely hack a PHP file, but I don’t think it would be too complicated (but they do say ‘a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing’

I would be really happy with just login integration hack, but there is a whole host of other fun plug-in potential stuff that could be done by a code ninja (or team of) for sure.
Any thoughts?
This is in regards to the BUDDYPRESS TRUNK version!
Just like Twitter offers a 140 char limit with coutndown counter I wanted to implement this for bp status updates. I added the following code to the “status component”, the jquery can probably be optimized also it would be good to set a db CHAR LIMIT on the textarea as well imo.
This code HAS to reside inside the general.js file of the status component (plugins/buddypress/bp-status/js/general.js), because the form only gets loaded when called, so this code needs to be called at the same time. At the top of the general.js file right after the jQuery(document).ready… line:
function limitChars(textid, limit, infodiv) {
var text = jQuery('#'+textid).val();
var textlength = text.length;
if(textlength > limit) {
jQuery('#' + infodiv).html('<span>0</span>');
jQuery('#'+textid).val(text.substr(0,limit));
return false;
} else {
jQuery('#' + infodiv).html(limit - textlength);
return true;
}
}This sets up the character count limit, info div and target input field.
Then currently on line 13 replace this line:
jQuery("#status-update-input").focus();with:
jQuery("#status-update-input").focus().keyup(function() {
limitChars('status-update-input', 140, 'counter');
});
jQuery("#status-update-input").after("<div style='float: right;' class='char-count'>You have got <strong><span id='counter'>140</span></strong> characters left.</div>");This code makes sure the counter only gets displayed together with the form, retains the focus and adds the keyup function. 140 is the character limit in this example. The last line adds the countdown div right under the textarea aligned to the right.
And that’s it! The first part does not need any configuration and the second part can be changed to your liking. What do you think? Can it be optimized? Is this an idea worthy of adding to the core component?
ok.. is there any chance to work WordPress MU Domain Mapping with buddypress?

i tried sinema.yerleske.net site mapped to sinemasite.com
well.. ye.. sinemasite.com working but buddypress users not seems as logged in ,so cant send comments and we cant reach dashboard (username password loggin not working)
