This is the problem I am having.
New user registers -> Activation email is sent -> User clicks on activation link -> User reaches confirmation page and then clicks on the login link -> User reaches a page not found
The user is still within the website so they can click any link to browse elsewhere so it is not a critical error but I would still like to find a solution for it.
I am running BuddyPress 1.0, WP 2.7. I dont think this is because of any plugin, because I have been seeing this error right from the initial install but only got around to it after fixing more major issues.
Thanks for the help.
Has anyone come across or implemented a good job board script or plugin that integrates well with BuddyPress?
I am running a startup community buddypress website and a job board would really help the community.
Of course! A huge thx to Andy as well! He’s any way like Santa! brings us all this lovely stuff which makes us happy
Jep, added that correctly and the button/tap is shown.
function add_location_to_main_menu() {
$class = (bp_is_page(\'countries\')) ? \' class=\"selected\" \' : \'\';
echo \'<li \' . $class. \'><a href=\"\' . get_option(\'home\') . \'/countries\" title=\"\' . __( \'Countries\', \'buddypress\' ) .\'\">\' . __( \'Countries\', \'buddypress\' ) .\'</a></li>\';
}
add_action(\'bp_nav_items\',\'add_location_to_main_menu\');
My Problem in this case is that it doesn’t load the structure.css from the component when I open the component over this button. It works properly when get to the page over the sub navigation link.
(I’m using a customized home as well as a customized member theme. )
thx 4 ur help!

Thanks Jeff.
I did send him a message through this site but didn’t think to do it through his own.
When I added that code, I received this error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_search_form() in mysite/forums/bb-templates/bbpress-forum/header.php on line 59
It looks like bbPress is not finding the Buddypress stuff
Tony & Sgoetz-
Thank you for your suggestions!
These ideas will be better heard if you do one (or both) of the following:
- Post them in this BuddyPress Dev Group
- Add an enhancement-request ticket to trac

Are you using a customized theme? If so, have you tried switching to the standard BuddyPress themes to see if the issue goes away?

You will get a quicker response if you create a new thread. This thread was marked resolved more than a month ago. We tend to bypass threads marked resolved and put our efforts into threads that are still not resolved.
Please see this post: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=2543

htaccess is same as htaccess.dist
Are you using the .htaccess file that comes with WPMU? If so, have you placed it in the root directory of WPMU?
Alunsina-
Okay, a few questions then:
- Do you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed? If so, have you tried deactivating them?
- Which version of PHP are you running?
- Which version of the GD module?
- Are there any errors in your error log? If so, what are they?

SInce this thread has not had any activity for over month, it is best to create a new thread, or find a similar thread that is less than a month old.

If you go through everything there, and still have issues, then post back here. If you find something that solves your issue, then post back here and let us know your solution.
In fact, I just figured out the problem.
I just went back and read the history.txt file myself. Well, guess what, this is a change Andy made just before he made v1.2 an official release. Ready?
Removed call to bp_example_add_activity_bullets_css() as will no longer work and is theme specific.

Okay, several issues. You are still using the old v1.1 for the code that you sent me. Are you also using v1.1 for your bp-example.php file? This code, as you know, is outdated.
Just within this file, you need to replace every instance of MUPLUGINDIR with WP_PLUGIN_URL.
Then, make sure that in bp-example.php, you have this line and not the v1.1 version.
$bp->example->image_base = WP_PLUGIN_URL . \'/bp-example/images\';
Your best bet is to compare each file of v1.1 with the new v1.2 files. Also, make sure that your custom component is in /plugins/ and not /plugins/buddypress/.
Finally, make sure that you read the history.txt file to see some of the more substantive changes from v1.1.

Okay,a few more questions, just to be thorough:
- Which version of PHP are you running?
- Have you made any changes to the .htaccess file?
- Did you even copy over the .htaccess file from the new WPMU package to your WPMU root?
- Questions about upgrading WPMU:
- Are you running any plugins other than BuddyPress? If so, have you tried deactivating them?
I don’t know what broke it from v1.1 to v1.2, I’m just making my best guess. That is why I was asking if you had a working v1.2 w/ images, then I could just download a copy and modify for my component. Like a version 1.2b since 1.2 has a bug in it.
here is the full code from v1.1 that I am guessing is the issue:

thanks for all your assistance and I hope this helps!

I’m working on a 9-12 installation:
http://odysseyblogs.org (that’s just the testing site)
and we are, most likely, moving to Moodle next year. Currently we’re using Ning and eCollege. I’d love to make some contacts with folks using BuddyPress with secondary students and if you happen to be using Moodle to that would be a bonus. I’m available at:
distanceed@gmail.com.
Cheers.
Hi,
Im running BP. 1.0, WPMU 2.7.1.
My 404.php isnt working in BuddyPress. When I insert a bad url it does not redirect the url to the 404.php page.
If im on the home theme and I enter a bad url it redirects to the member page.
If im on a member theme (like wire) and I enter a bad url it redirects to ‘Profile’.
I have a feeling there’s something wrong with either the htaccess or wp-config file. But the problem could be elsewhere? Anyone has a solution for this?? Thanks!
Hi,
Anybody knows how to make the userbar and optionbar appear horisontal like on buddypress.org instead of vertical? I tried messing around with the CSS classes but cant make it work. I can only change the position of the icons and boxes.
Shouldnt it be possible without altering the <?php bp_get_nav() ?> and <?php bp_get_options_nav() ?> template code?
Im stuck. Please help!
I just got off the phone with the folks hosting the server and they’ve corrected the incorrect session problem. Now visiting any of the buddypress pages don’t produce any error logs – but I’m still having the Page Not Found error on the activity, wire, friends, edit profile etc pages.
Whats the next step?
Sgoetz-
You’ve posted this issue in another thread where I have replied specifically to you. Please go and look at my response and then provide me with additional details.

Hi,
At present it seems you can turn Group Creation off but this seems to disable visibility of groups for all users regardless if there are any groups existing. This is not ideal.
After a little testing and proof of concept with BuddyPress groups I feel they could benefit with the following improvements (correct me if I am wrong and they already do this!)
1. Allow a setting which ensures only Admin user of Buddy Press can create groups. There are cases when you want global control of groups not allow anyone to create them.
2. If you are the creator and only member of the group you cannot remove yourself – agreed why would you – but when you do it caused a blank screen hiding I presume an error.
Keep up the good work! I am off to test somemore
!
Tony
Gordon–
Thanks for your help! I figured out what I was doing wrong. I had not replaced the logo image with the new one that I’d created, and so, of course, the old orange one was coming up instead. Isn’t it always the little stuff that trips us up?
All your advice helped me out a great deal. Thank you!
