I’m running WP 3.2.1 and BP 1.5 upgrade from 1.2.10
Custom Theme: Upstart Blogger FuturosityThis is a silly edit that I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make.
The title of the site works fine in the blog parts of the site.
it reads: sitename | location >> Name of postAn example of how the title reads in the Buddy Press activated parts of the site:
sitenameActivity StreamI can not for the life of me figure out how to get a space between the sitename and the Buddy Press page titles.
Ideally I would like to add: space | space BuddyPress pageRight now I’ve got the standard WP title code in the header.php file.
`
` Anyone have a clue card?
I activated BPress and during setup, I tried several ways to activate the forums. Each choice I click on yields:
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
I think I can access everything else, and everything else seems to be working okay, I just want to get the forums up. Thanks in advance for your help.
I’m running wp 3.2.1, on main directory in root, using bp version 1.5.1that was never upgraded. I have no other plugins activated on the subdomain I’m running buddypress from. I’m using the standard bp theme that came with the plugin for this and I modified my wp-config to allow bp to run on subdomain (runs on members.mysite.com): here’s the info in bp-custom.php

Wiredtree is my server provider (I have a dedicated server with all access), and I’m running Linux w/ Apache
My client “accidentally” upgraded a buddypress pack about a month ago. I posted it on the forums here and someone responded telling me to delete that file. Unfortunately, when I try to look up that post here I can’t find it. When I click the link to see my activity/posts it takes me to a page not found error.
Sooo. That did the trick. Before I deleted that folder the entire site was broken and deleting it fixed it. However, something that we missed is that NOW when you go to the activity section of the community on the site we get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_is_single_activity() in /home/kerilyn/marriedtoachef.com/wp-content/plugins/bp-moderation/classes/bpModFrontend.php on line 65
Here’s a link: http://www.marriedtoachef.com/activity/ though I’m not sure you can see it if you’re not logged in as a user.
Can someone please help me with this issue? Thank you so much!

Can anyone offer some help? I’ve tried a few methods, but keep seeming to get caught up with the jquery.
Once, I got it to work in IE, but not in chrome (odd) with this code:
bp-custom.php file:
<?php function toggle_activity_form () { ?> <!-- function toggle_visibility(id) { var e = document.getElementById(id); if(e.style.display == 'block') e.style.display = 'none'; else e.style.display = 'block'; } //--> <a href="#">Update Status</a> <?php } add_action ('bp_before_directory_activity_content', 'toggle_activity_form '); add_action ('bp_before_group_activity_post_form','toggle_activity_form ');But, again, I couldn’t get this working in Chrome. Plus, I think I’d prefer jquery in case someone has javascript turned off.
I really appreciate anyone’s help. I’m approaching a deadline!
Thanks

If I enable the Site Tracking component of BP, the page
http://blogsite.mainsite.tld/blogs shows only 26 user blogs/sites.
There’s no obvious patterns to which sites are included and which are skipped.
If I create a new site, it is shown. If I disable the Site Tracking component and enable the plugin
Blogs Directory 1.1.3, all user blogs are listed. The page title is malformed
but all the blogs are there. The activity page updates correctly, this issue seems to be confined to the BP blogs listing.
I searched the forums here and haven’t found a problem like this.
Any ideas?WP 3.2.1 running BP 1.5 upgraded from 1.2.10
After not being able to figure out how to add just one html link to the buddy/admin bar, I found a snippet to add an html drop down menu. Adding the function to a bp-custom.php file.
The menu looks fine, it just doesn’t work and I’ve tried many different kinds of edits to the file to try and get it to work.
The file is:
<?php function pages () { global $bp; ?> <li><a href="http://www.mysite.com">Community</a> <ul> <li><a href="//www.mysite.com/activity”">The Stream</a></li> <li><a href="//www.mysite.com/blogs”">Members Blog Actvity</a></li> <li><a href="//www.mysite.com/members”">Members Directory</a></li> <li><a href="//www.mysite.com/groups”">Public Groups</a></li> <li><a href="//www.mysite.com/about/become-a-member”">Join</a></li> <li><a href="//www.mysite.com/about/contact”">Contact</a></li> </ul>I really don’t want the word “Community” to be a link, but if I add it without the href, it breaks.
Any answers as to why this doesn’t work and how to make it work would be greatly appreciated.
my versions BP 1.5.1
WP 3.2.1
Theme: Buddypress default theme. All other plugins are inactive
Permalink structure: Custom (/blog/%post_id%/%postname%/Other than home page all other pages & posts are getting 404 not found error.
If I set permalinks to ‘Default’ then all pages opens up with no content, all posts shows up content. If I set permalink to any other settings both pages and posts gets ‘404 Not found error’. Same issue happened when I was even on BP1.5“Not Found
The requested URL /stg/activity was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”WP 3.2.1 running BP 1.5 upgraded from 1.2.10
Using my own custom themeI noticed that on some of the member/username pages that the grouping of name, last active, and last activity update, were sometimes located beside the avatar and sometimes below it, and I couldn’t figure out why until just now …
I had inserted some text in the member-header that was a long sentence. I realized that it wasn’t wrapping when I adjusted column widths. So I put a break `
` in it and the user info immediately moved up next to the avatar. Then I noticed that the folks who had long activity updates also had their user information below the avatar instead of beside it.
The activity update in the member-header is obviously wrapping, but it’s not wrapping according to the column width. How to edit this? Also which file has the view_link in it for the member header area (I found it for the Members Directory page) .
On the activity page I see members avatars, their names, a brief line or 2 of text and a few have ‘View’ links next to their activity. The ones that start with /activity/p/ (some number after it) are broken. I think these are Updates posted from the user’s profile, but the links show nothing, just blank content, there’s nothing there when you click on the link- just shows the avatar, name, and the links ‘View’ and ‘Delete’ but nothing below that.
Anyone else have this issue? I’m afraid to Upgrade BuddyPress and the template packs, so I’m really stuck.

Using Custom ThemeOne of the people testing out my configuration suggested that I make the font size in the Activity Stream larger – to match the font-size in the posts and pages on the site – primarily for using the site on smaller devices. My page and single content font sizes in the site’s CSS are not affecting the activity stream/network.
I want to hard code it or at least put it in my site’s CSS file.
I guess this would be more than just changing the font-size in the activity stream …
when installed in multisite and set to be aware of news posts, buddypress activity page show it’s own version of excerpt, it show post thumbnail and part of the post, even though set the tag and it’s working normally in twenty eleven blog theme, and also it show error saying ” !–more– “
look here to understand:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/31/moretag.gif/
I want it to consider the more tag, which in my case showing the post thumbnail only, can that be set by adding some filter to bp-custom?Is there a plugin (that works in conjunction with Buddy Press) that will give members the ability to upload pictures, have a gallery, and write in basic BIO information on their profile pages? RIght now, I only know of “activity-related” and very limited profile info being on the default user profile page in BP. Is there a way to increase the customization of the member profile page (once they are logged in, from their dashboard etc;)?
Hi,
My site has highly customized buddypress. Currently users can comment on posts and their comments are held in moderation until approved by admin, however they are showing up in the activity stream on the homepage and in the user’s pages without being approved. How do I fix this? I tried to just disable it in the dashboard but that did not work.
Thanks!
