ParticipantMake sure the “bbPress Forums” is enabled in “BuddyPress > Component Setup”. Also, make sure that you have bbPress 1.0.2 installed in /buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress/

KeymasterIf you think you have found bugs, please list then on the BuddyPress bug tracker. Link back here for discussion, but most people aren’t going to trawl through the forums looking for bugs to report.

Participantwell basically…buddypress is best option for learning….
students learn -> write a blog on that
those who wants to learn -> reads those posts.
any problems -> comments or forums are there..
groups are used to classified users…
its the easiest way to do

Participant@Colorful tones
You seem to be having a few issues getting BP installed and working properly. Please start a new thread so we can better help you. When doing so, answer these questions in the first post of that new thread.
With regards to this issue:
Has anybody else noticed that this site Buddypress.org is not working too? When I log in and go to any of the links in the top admin bar they all re-direct me to the front page.
Although you do not technically have a space in your username, you have a dash, this thread may provide some insight. Did you sign up using a space between “Colorful” and “tones”?

ParticipantHi Simon,
I tried it yesterday, but without success. The cache remains active. Hm, or needs wp sc the url of the link?
Example:
https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/
/forums -> will not cache any files
Thats right?
thx
Markus

ParticipantHi Madloki,
The “don’t cache pages for logged in users” is a fairly sensible one to have ticked, obviously.
It’s just to give maximum flexibility I think, as the plugin is used across many different kinds of sites. If you look in the WP Super Cache settings, in the “Accepted Filenames & Rejected URIs” section, you can probably specify part of a URL (perhaps “forum”) which should mean a page isn’t cached. You can check whether a page has been cached by looking at the bottom of the HTML source code, where it should say in an HTML comment.
Good luck!

ParticipantFor anyone following this and hoping for an answer, I came across a similar discussion:
https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/surprising-avatar-behavior
Andy said, “The quickest option is to remove the /wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/avatars/ directory and let BuddyPress rebuild your avatars as people upload again.” Also, Andy recommended that you check your permissions.
I did both of the above. I removed the avatar folder which did remove the mixed-up avatars. However, BP still would not correctly display newly uploaded avatars. It said the file was uploaded correctly, I see the file in the avatar folder (both bpfull.jpg and jpthumb.jpg) but BP is still displaying those files as a broken link.
Still hoping and looking for a fix to this as more and more people are being affected by it.

ParticipantThis is the best news jozik! We use WPML together with BuddyPress for our organization which is set up in Dutch and English. Through some creative hacking we manage to get WPML working, but only using the query approach ” ?lang=nl”. So the directory approach is much cleaner and really appreciated.
We also have created a quick little plugin called wpml-auto-settings which auto activates and configures the wpml plugin in the db for that newly created blog. The settings are hardcoded in the plugin atm. We needed this because our audience will not be able to enable plugins and configure wpml.
See our topic at your forums: http://forum.wpml.org/topic.php?id=203
While our little plugin works, is this something that could be considered to be core in your plugin? That is that the settings set by the site-admin could be site-wide for newly created blogs?
Great job though…looking forward for more development.

Reinstalled bbpress once again and it seems to respond now.
Still can’t get the Profile Field questions to show up for new users.
I think I’m missing something small.

ParticipantMan my head is swirling from browsing the Forums for the right thread. I was trying to be good about not re-posting a similar topic/issue, but I give up. Hopefully this is the right spot?
I’ve upgraded my site. All was well, but the bp default theme admin bar keeps re-directing to the homepage. I try to see my profile and it sends me to the homepage. I’ve noticed that Buddypress.org is doing the same. I try to click on my name and it takes me to the Buddypress.org front page. Quite discouraging. suggestions?
I’ve tried the following, which I thought might help:
– cleared my browser cache
– turned off all site plugins, activate only BP
– it is not related to bp-themes location. I’ve read all of the threads on the proper placement and the bp-default theme is displaying fine
Please advise.
