Hi there, our registration page is no longer responding. We are not sure how long ago this happened if it was caused by the new WordPress update, however, can you please advise on how to fix this as the page just continues to load but doesn’t respond.

    Kind regards
    Callum

I’m creating a new BuddyPress site that will be primarily organized around Groups. Each Group will represent a city, and each Group needs to have multiple Forums (such as for neighborhoods within the city). Two questions, please:
    1) How do I create multiple Forums for Groups? When I set up a new Group, it asks if I want the Group to have a Forum. But it says nothing about having more than one Forum.
    2) I’m confused about the difference between a BuddyPress user registration and a BBPress Forum user registration. Do I need both? Does the Forum registration just register them for one Forum, or for use of the whole BuddyPress site? If they register in BuddyPress, do they also need to register to take part in a Forum?

In general, I don’t understand why BuddyPress and BBPress are separate plugins. It would make a lot more sense (and be less confusing) if they were all in one plugin, wouldn’t it?

Hello, I have researched the topic here and the codes that are suggested to be added into my functions.php of my theme do not work for me. I even tried to add it to the core of buddypress within the plugin, and that did not remove it either. I unchecked the settings and turned off registration, still there, any solutions?

I’m using the default Registration form of Buddypress and if a user try to register it gives the following error:
    – “Make sure to insert the password 2 times”

But, there is no “Confirm Password” field in the form.
The issue appears only when the browser autogenerate the password or the user manually changes the generated password.

I am using the latest stable version of BuddyPress with WordPress 5.9.

I have one login issue for new users. I have clicked so that everyone can register in wp settings. But when I log out and try to register a new user, I come to a new page with the following information:
“Member registration is currently not allowed”

What is happening and what do I need to do to fix this problem?

    Hi,

I’m fairly new to WP and BP. I’m trying to help a non-profit with their WordPress site and the Registration page just spins. I’ve added define( ‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true ); to the wp-config.php file but I don’t get any errors logged….just the page spinning. I’ve pulled a copy to my LocalWP and disabled all plug-ins, etc but can’t find the issue. I would love any pointers or help!
Please be patient with me as my expertise is limited. I realize these are older plugins, etc. This was working and then stopped but not sure why. I will start slowing updating everything to get it current once I figure out how to get the site back functional.

To get to the registration page go to: About – scroll down and select ‘Become a Member’ – ‘Create an Account’

BP Settings Options – Profile Syncing enabled
BP Pages – Register set to Register
    website: https://fellowcoaches.com/
    WP version: 5.6.7
    BP version: 3.2.5
    Theme: Twenty Twenty-One v1.3

In your BuddyPress settings, do you have Profile Syncing turned on or off? If it’s on, it uses the WordPress registration and login.

    Hello,

Is it possible to customise the registration page? I would like to add text, buttons on the page defined by default by BuddyPress.

    Thanks

    Hello All,

Is anyone else having the same issue as me? Whenever a user on my site registers with a weak password (and checks the “Confirm use of weak password” box), their registration goes through. But they aren’t able to log in. Every time they try to log in, they get the incorrect username/password message.

It’s like BuddyPress wants them to use a stronger password, but lets them register anyway. But then doesn’t let them log in with the weak password.

    Any suggestions?

There is a cors error reported in your site on registration. Your cloudflare configuration is not correct. The “SameSite” policy is not validated hence rejected.

The issue is not related to BuddyPress and can not be corrected via code or settings in BuddyPress.

this is a design question, not possible in default Buddypress. You need a plugin or theme to achieve this.

Disclaimer : This plugin is owned by us and currently priced. It is possible using the extension we have about custom registration forms. [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ_yvx1xU-I ]. We have plans to make this open source in near future for BuddyPress. Let me know if you’re interested to be notified about it.

when filling out register form it just refreshes the page – seems to fail with no error message I can see.
How would I find out what is happening in the browser and on the server to debug?

tried with turning off plugins and back to default theme,
also did the list of things to check from here:
    (
    – check the WordPress settings allows account to be created (Anyone can register checkbox needs to be active) See: wordpress.org/support/article/settings-general-screen/#membership
    – check your permalink settings are using one of the pretty permalink options (not plain), see this documentation page wordpress.org/support/article/using-permalinks/#mod_rewrite-pretty-permalinks
    – check the activate and register actions are associated with a public WordPress page. You can find some inputs about it from this documentation page : codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-components/#settings-buddypress-pages

NB: the registration and activation pages are only displayed to users who are not logged in,
    )

site is https://www.chatyolo.com/register/ – it’s kind of NSFW

    1. Which version of WordPress are you running?
    5.8.3
    2. Did you install WordPress as a directory or subdomain install?
    main directory
    6. Which version of BP are you running?
    9.2
    8. Do you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed and activated? If so, which ones?
301 Redirects, All in One SEO, AdRotate, Error Log Monitor, Forminator Pro,
Slide Anything – Responsive Content / HTML Slider and Carousel, Wise Chat Pro, Wordfence Security,
WP Activity Log, Smush Pro, Query Monitor,
    9. Are you using a standard WordPress theme or customized theme?
tried both -happens with 2021 theme, zakra, and astra

    13. If running bbPress, which version? Or did your BuddyPress install come with a copy of bbPress built-in?
2.6.9 – it’s turned off through and still issue

    20. What BP Template Pack is activated in your installation? You will see that under Dashboard > Settings > BuddyPress – Options page.
was on legacy, switched to neavox

Tried with firefox and chrome and different computers..
had a few other profile fields – then removed them from the base signup and it still fails –

    Help greatly appreciated

    Dear support,

I am looking to create a form that requires users to enter their current country and destination country. Two country drop downs. Does buddy press have country drop down field and and guidance on how to incorporate this will be appreciated.

    Does buddypress integrate with Mycred?

I want to have an option on the Buddy press registration page that allows users to enter referral id of the person who referred them to the website. If someone registers by entering referral id or comes to the website by clicking referral link generated on My cred, then points to be awarded for the person who referred via the referral hook. Please advise how this can be achieved

Also, does buddypress support email activation feature to activate account. I would like to setup Mycred hook and buddypress in a manner that points are awarded for sign up only after activation by the user by clicking email. Is this possible?

    Thanks

I am surprised BuddyPress has not developed a recaptcha add-on or plugin so that our registration can be more secured. Is there a plugin/addon that is now available?

    1. Make sure registration page exists in WP admin – Settings- BuddyPress – pages
    2. Re-save the permalinks

The registration page can be cached, no issues there.

Optionally, our plugin which enhances BuddyPress but includes ReactJS & PWA has ReactJS powered forms which work flawless and there is no load on the site as the forms are created using javascript. Let me know if you want me to share a link of it.

    Using the aardvark theme:

    On the front page:

The Login/Register buttons on the top right corner.

    1. I am having problems with the “Register” Button/page – taking a very long time to load, sometimes it times out.

    2. went into buddy press to change the Registration page to something different to see if it would speed up in order to test it out.

    3. I switched it to my “contact” page temporarily and found it loaded immediately.

    4. I went to switch it back to the Buddy press register page that I am assume was created by buddy press.

    5. Now when I click the “register” button. It takes me to the “contact” page. Then when I am on the contact page…when i click register, it eventually will take me to the right page, The “register” page (by buddypress)

This is a major problem. Can you please help me? I have a big event and I need people to be able to register on the site.

Let me know if you need any more information, I have no clue how to fix this.

Thanks @windhillruss for your feedback. I’m not able to test the Beehive theme (because it is a paid theme). It sounds like the theme has its own version of register.php which will need to be updated. Can you have a look and let me know if the theme does contain a register.php file?

We’ve introduced a new helper function, bp_allow_access_to_registration_pages(), to figure out whether the registration page is accessible that the developers will want to start using (if BP>=v10):
    https://github.com/buddypress/buddypress/blob/master/src/bp-members/bp-members-template.php#L2960

Regarding the login form, here are some examples of the filters we used to add “request membership” links to the various WP login forms: https://github.com/buddypress/buddypress/commit/2099c877aaa539439b2c6255db6872af2db85a11

Thanks again for your testing! It’s greatly appreciated! If the Beehive devs care to share some of their code to a Trac ticket, I’d be happy to take a more specific look.

As far as I know, apart from adding the options to see the activities and groups (if you activate them), it only creates the registration, activate, members and activity pages.
If on your website you put a link to the activity page, registered people will be able to comment and add friends to their profile, it would only be a section on your website, it does not have to be the main page.
    ///

Hi, Thanks for the opportunity to test v10. When the Option for Admin to approve requests is active and ‘Allow anyone to Register’ is disabled, the Registration form says ‘Member Registration is currently not allowed’ Using the Beehive Theme which styles Buddypress. Similarly, Beehive’s Ajax Login Modal says ‘Sign-Up not allowed’ It appears like a Catch22 situation. Is there something I’m missing? Thanks.
