Hi,
I am using a couple of drop-down boxes in user registration. I want the user to select his country and upon choosing, he/she can see in the second drop-down box the list of cities in their country. This makes selection faster. Is it possible to do this and if so, how?
Also, typing all countries in the drop-box selections can be very time consuming. Is there any way to import a ready-made list of countries?
Thanks
Topic: Nothing visible on Site
Hi,
I am very new to Buddy Press. The registration page is working okay and when I log in, I am able to see profile, messages, edit profile, log out. etc. I am also able to post an activity (as an admin, I even approved it). However, groups, members and activities do not appear on the site at all. As an admin, I created a group but that is not visible despite the privacy setting set to Public. Can anyone please help me? The pages for Activity, Members and Groups are there on the site but they appear blank and a visitor cannot see any activity or group.
Another thing I want to add is that the checkbox for ‘discouraging index of the site on search engines is unchecked because I want the site to be indexed by search engines.
Thanks
How do BP member type and WordPress user profiel relate?
I have 2 user profiles (or member types), collaborators and suscriptors, and I want to allow both of them to register by themselves, although collaborators registration must be approved by an administrator.
Should I work only with WordPress user profiles and ignore BP member type? How to combine both of them or customize registration form for any of them?
Thank you.
Hello, I just installed and configured BP and registration page is blank.
These things are checked:
- Site is configured to allow anyone to register
- BP is coonfigured (under pages tab) with correct register and activate page
- WordPress permalink structure has been reset and has been tried with both, page_name and date/pagename
- Pages register and activate do exist and show header and title, but content is blank
- I tried both BP themes, legacy and noveau. register.php file exists under both themes folder
- Worpress version 5.8, BP version 9.0.0
I dindn’t configure any additional fields for registration under profile fields but according to the docs, the form should be available with this configurations I did.
Thank you.
Hello all,
I’ve looked throught the forum and many plugins, and I can not solve this problem which seems “so simple” to me !
How to configure an email sent to the administrator each time a registration is done ?
Let me explain :
My community system is based on pre-registered users in a database.
So, when a user registers on my site, he receives an email (originally, the wordpress email with the activation link) telling him that his account is being verified by the administrator.
Then, the account is in the user pending system, and the administrator can activate or not this account manually.
If the account is validate, the user will receive a welcoming message, etc.BUT, I would like to receive an email informing me that a user has registered, ie who has completed the registration form BUT has not yet validated his account. However, the default wordpress email is only sent to the administrator when the account is validate.
It’s really exhausting to check permanetly if a user is in the pending system, in order to validate or refuse its account…
Hope someone could help me…
ThanksI found out that the registration page for BuddyPress, when set in the dashboard overtook the page I had customized. To avoid that, I gave it is own page, so that my “normal” login was the customized one.
However, I notice that the Buddypress registration is letting a lot of spam registrations in, since it is not using captcha. Is there a way to disable it completely so I can just keep my own page the way I set it up?I need help fixing our registration page. See error encountered below:

When I go to BuddyPress Pages in settings I get this –
“Registration is currently disabled. Before associating a page is allowed, please enable registration by selecting either the “User accounts may be registered” or “Both sites and user accounts can be registered” option on this page.”
So I go to the Network Settings and have allowed user registrations & saved. Refresh the page and it says that user registrations are allowed.
But if I go back to the BuddyPress settings I still get the message (above) that I need to allow registrations!
Help!
Hello.
I would like to ask you for advice.
Do you think it would be possible to associate the email field with a personal code assigned by me and sent to the user, to make sure that the registration to the site takes place only by users authorized by me?
Basically, if the user does not enter the code associated with the email, he will not be able to complete the re-registration (such as a mandatory conditional field). On the contrary, if the user enters the personal code sent to him and associated with the registration email, he will be able to complete the registration form.
Thank youHi all,
I have a problem with the order of my sign-up fields.
I am creating them in base or other field groups and drag them over to “sign-up fields”. I can change the order there via drag & drop. So far so good, unfortunately the order I choose never sticks. When I look at the registration page, everything is back to the old order again.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thanks in advance,
Bye JHello,
The problem is, we are recibing user registration petition with only email without other fields. How is possible if i have a correctly validation fields system? This users are spam in all this special situations. I’m using Stop Spammers antispam plugin and it register this spamer but not block becasue it detects is ok.
I have a register page customized with another url and blocking acces with usual registration url or usual acces. In this page i’m showing only all required fields from my xprofile fields list.
I’m using Buddypress 7.3.0 and WordPress 5.7.2.
Our system works like this:
If i don’t fill all fields i can’t send this information and it show message error if i don’t fill some fields so form validation is working ok. When some user send this registration form correctly the system send a email with all information to system email and user is stand by to be activated using “user > manage signups” tool. User can be activated only by an administrator user. This screenshot shows when is a normal user registration: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NXahXVctAt76atlhrJ8-Hl5-KokKZqIF/view?usp=sharing
This screenshot shows when is an spamer with only email (it doesn’t show xprofiles fields, when other usual registration petitions show all fields empty or not empty): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YC2fF_g3pnrPyD7kFQaJUE9Gt_ZBzHlK/view?usp=sharing
I don’t know why can do this this users I need some help.
Thank you.
Hi guys I’d like to use the Groups feature of BuddyPress to create local meetup style groups. I need to add a location/address field for Group profile/registration and the ability for members to search Groups by location and proximity. If I don’t want to use Google Maps, does anyone know how to do this? Any plugins for achieving this that use Open Street Maps or other?
Hi guys, i need every user who registers on my site (also with buddypress registration page)

Hello, I recently updated BuddyPress and now I am having issues with my registration page. I get the following error:

using the BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Field Types plugin I noticed that a field does not have the word delete. Perhaps for this reason the registration of a new profile was not successful.
With yellow pencil I have deleted the field from the registration page but the field is not deleted from the administration page.
Now the added fields no longer appear on the registration page and the registration page is no longer there.
Could you advise me what to do?
Thank youhello i am getting this error when trying to load the registration page on my website. any suugestions how to rectify it?
