    Hi,

I have a WooCommerce store with buddypress to give users profiles, social networking capabilities and also bbPress forums. I want to create a subdomain that will have special content for a subscription, separate from the main store. Is it possible to have the buddypress profiles work for both the main site and subdomain with WooCommerce? I am not sure the best way to set this up so users can shop from both stores with 1 account. I assume I need 2 installations of wordpress/woocommerce/buddypress to make it work???

    Hi Frederik,

I am looking for the same feature … user online/offline status for BuddyPress …

So far, I didn’t find any code for function.php file (theme) or bp-custom.php file (buddypress)
I have found an outdated plugin (2 years old) which can temporary help (Status Buddy plugin) :

    Status Buddy

With this plugin, the online status is only shown on the directory of members
This plugin works with WordPress v5.2.0

If you find something else, please let me know about it …

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

    Hello,

I’m currently working on a website. And i wanted to create an (outside) messaging system in WordPress. The fact is we need to let the user send email to other domain. And we also need a delay system to send the mails, with a calendar for exemple !
We were looking for a solution on the web since 3 weeks, and we can’t manage to find anything. This is why we are looking for your help.

    Thanks !

So I have been using bitnami wordpress container and I think pagespeed is a Google product included with the container. It seems to be a pre-load cache of some sort. I’ve disabled it and the problem hasn’t recurred (so far).

    Hi @Venutius,

I finally found some time to make more tests on this issue.

    What I did :

Install a fresh WordPress 5.1.1 on a test server.
    Install Buddypress 4.3.0.
    Create a user called “blue”.
    Create a user called “red”.
Connect with “blue” and send a private message to “red” saying “Hello I am blue and I say blue”.
Connect with “red” and send a private message to “blue” saying “Hello I am red and I say red”.
Export Data for both “blue” and “red” users.

    Result :
Export Data for user “blue” shows one message sent to recipient “red” with content : “Hello I am blue and I say blue”.
Export Data for user “red” shows one message sent to recipient “blue” with content : “Hello I am blue and I say blue”.

The result is the same on this fresh install. For both users in a thread, the Export Data only returns the private message data content wrote by the creator of the thread.

For your information, I am running WordPress with French language. However I don’t think this can be linked to my issue.

Can you try to reproduce this please ?
I still think it is a bug.

    Thank you 🙂

I need users to receive a notification when someone comments on their WORDPRESS BLOG POST, not their wall post.
Is there a way to do this?
It seems to me the buddypress notification is only for wall posts.

I cannot duplicate your issue with a WP theme like 2019.

Here are some basic questions to help you narrow down the issue:

Did BuddyBoss do their tests on your site or theirs ?

Are you trying to delete from the front-end or the back-end?
What kind of group is it – public, private, hidden ?

Which BP template are you using?

Did you check your error logs ?

Have you try deactivating other plugins?

If you can list the steps to create the issue – be specific and include screenshots – you could open a ticket here. Be sure to reference this thread.

For Buddypress user profiles, we create user profiles in WordPress by syncing with Active Directory. This creates new WP user profiles and also syncs data over to BP XProfile fields.

In configuring this process, I’ve learned that BP Visibility rules for XProfile fields are not set when user profiles are created via import from Active Directory; they are only set when an existing profile is manually edited and updated. Is there a way to fix or work around this, to get the Field Visibility rules applied to user profiles regardless of when/how the profiles are created (via import, etc.)?

Thanks for getting back to me. I did reach out to their support but here is what they said

I tried to remove the members from the groups but it looks like there is nug in buddypress itself. It doesn’t remove the member from the group.

I tested the same thing with the wordpress default theme and the same result so it is a buddypress specific issue. Can you please once contact buddypress support and report the issue.

So I’m not 100% sure right now what is the source of the problem.

This plugin will do multi-field searches.
afaik – there is no plugin for doing a multi-step plugin.

    3) Cloudflare
    Installed Buddypress 4.3.0
Activated all components in “Buddypress Settings”
Went to “Tools / Export Personal Data” and tried to download personal data.
Data downloading was unsuccessful and produced the following warning:

An error occurred while trying to export personal data.

Find the /buddypress/members/single/profile/change-avatar.php file and place a copy in your child theme’s /buddypress/members/single/profile/ folder and modify that file by removing the parts about gravatar

    or this maybe

Not sure if this is a wordpress or buddypress issue so posting in both places. I run a writers community with buddypress and have set up forums where members can post pieces of work. We are experiencing some difficulty with the comment blacklist which prevents some words from being used even if within a word e.g. double breasted…. and one piece of work I can’t for the life of me find the word that is blocking the post… whilst I want to be able to stop spam comments, surely forum posts from members who have to be signed in to post is another thing? Any suggestions? I am useless with code :). Even if we had something which could identify the rogue word we could do something about it…

    Thank you

    Dear BuddyPress community,

my company is using your plugin for our companies intranet.

We’ve got a development Server running and updated the Woffice Intranet Theme to the latest 2.8.3.1 Version.

Once I updated the theme, BuddyPress somehow also changed the settings from the legacy buddypress template package to the Nouveau one. I tried changing this setting back to legacy, without luck. It applies the settings in the settings panel but the actual page doesn’t change. I tried clearing (or entirely disabling) the cache multiple times.

Information regarding our system (because it’s an intranet, I can’t provide a link):
We’re using WordPress v5.2.1, with the Intranet Theme Woffice (v2.7.2.1 -> v2.8.3.1). The Theme comes with BuddyPress 4.3.0. We didn’t change anything in BuddyPress.

    Also, we got Unyson 2.7.22.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,
    Frederik

my company is using your plugin for our companies intranet. When a user is logged in, his online status is shown in a sidebar. Then, when the user logs out, the online status should disappear immediately. But it the online status doesn’t change for quite some time.

Is there a filter function, or a setting in BuddyPress that controls the behaviour of the “online Users display”?

    > So, it had to be something I did along the way.

Did you add another plugin? Or some custom code?

It could be something you did in the WP Customizer.
If so, you could try resetting the customizer.
    Google this: wordpress customizer reset

    hi,

i get one solution at least to see link for reset password, the solution is :

You need to switch the brackets from “<” and “>” to “(” and “)” in your code within your wp-login.php in use

Open up your WordPress folder & edit wp-login.php file in editor.

    Now find below line

    $message .= ‘<‘ . network_site_url(“wp-login.php?action=rp&key=$key&login=” . rawurlencode($user_login), ‘login’) . “>\r\n”;
    You simply have to replace “<” & “>” with “(” & “)”.

Now code will look like below

    $message .= ‘(‘ . network_site_url(“wp-login.php?action=rp&key=$key&login=” . rawurlencode($user_login), ‘login’) . “)\r\n”;

I want to say that i have hack BPmail with adfilter to use Wpmail because i am using SMTP so for me this solution working and i can see link

BUT, i still do not see email reset password on Email List of Buddypress someone has solution please ?

Update. I recently moved hosts. My new host specialises in WordPress support and has their own cache plugin. Getting rid of the (very popular) plugin I was using also got rid of the problem. It seems that the former cache plugin was being just a bit too aggressive with caching.

Just thought I would pop back and say thanks for the support and that the problem is now fixed.
