    Dear BuddyPress community,

my company is using your plugin for our companies intranet.

We’ve got a development Server running and updated the Woffice Intranet Theme to the latest 2.8.3.1 Version.

Once I updated the theme, BuddyPress somehow also changed the settings from the legacy buddypress template package to the Nouveau one. I tried changing this setting back to legacy, without luck. It applies the settings in the settings panel but the actual page doesn’t change. I tried clearing (or entirely disabling) the cache multiple times.

Information regarding our system (because it’s an intranet, I can’t provide a link):
We’re using WordPress v5.2.1, with the Intranet Theme Woffice (v2.7.2.1 -> v2.8.3.1). The Theme comes with BuddyPress 4.3.0. We didn’t change anything in BuddyPress.

    Also, we got Unyson 2.7.22.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,
    Frederik

    Dear BuddyPress community,

my company is using your plugin for our companies intranet. When a user is logged in, his online status is shown in a sidebar. Then, when the user logs out, the online status should disappear immediately. But it the online status doesn’t change for quite some time.

Is there a filter function, or a setting in BuddyPress that controls the behaviour of the “online Users display”?

    > So, it had to be something I did along the way.

Did you add another plugin? Or some custom code?

It could be something you did in the WP Customizer.
If so, you could try resetting the customizer.
    Google this: wordpress customizer reset

    hi,

i get one solution at least to see link for reset password, the solution is :

You need to switch the brackets from “<” and “>” to “(” and “)” in your code within your wp-login.php in use

Open up your WordPress folder & edit wp-login.php file in editor.

    Now find below line

    $message .= ‘<‘ . network_site_url(“wp-login.php?action=rp&key=$key&login=” . rawurlencode($user_login), ‘login’) . “>\r\n”;
    You simply have to replace “<” & “>” with “(” & “)”.

Now code will look like below

    $message .= ‘(‘ . network_site_url(“wp-login.php?action=rp&key=$key&login=” . rawurlencode($user_login), ‘login’) . “)\r\n”;

I want to say that i have hack BPmail with adfilter to use Wpmail because i am using SMTP so for me this solution working and i can see link

BUT, i still do not see email reset password on Email List of Buddypress someone has solution please ?

Update. I recently moved hosts. My new host specialises in WordPress support and has their own cache plugin. Getting rid of the (very popular) plugin I was using also got rid of the problem. It seems that the former cache plugin was being just a bit too aggressive with caching.

Just thought I would pop back and say thanks for the support and that the problem is now fixed.

    Hi all
    Has anyone had this before:
    – Buddypress user posts a post in a group
    – I comment on it (as site/group admin – not sure what happens if another user does)
    – Refresh page, post disappeared!
    – Looking in Stream logs, it says I marked the post as spam
    – Looking in Activity, where the post should be, it says “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
    – Checking the email box, I have the following email:

“Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a
plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you
    with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, BuddyPress.”

This has happened twice on my site now. Can anyone please help?

    Thanks!

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/advanced/

Wordpress.org, search for the plugin, on the plugin page click advanced view, scroll to bottom and there should be an option to select previous versions for download.

I’m assuming you haven’t been taking backups if you are unable to roll back, now would be a good time to install updraftplus or similar so you have a backup available.

I’ve tried Yoast and other seo plugins showed sitemap error.
After troubleshooting by enabling and disabling plugins, I find the sitemap error is due to a conflict with buddypress(the latest version as well). It seems buddypress has caused empty lines in the sitemap xml, I wonder is there a way to resolve this? Thanks!

Following is the error message when trying to access yoast sitemap_index.xml

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
    Location: http://127.0.0.1/wordpress/sitemap_index.xml
    Line Number 3, Column 1:<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?><?xml-stylesheet type=”text/xsl” href=”//127.0.0.1/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/css/main-sitemap.xsl”?>

Please use the code button when posting code.

Did you look at the class? Did you see the hooks in the class?

You don’t add the hook, you use the hook – do_action.

Have you investigated other login widgets that have this feature? For example https://wordpress.org/plugins/login-sidebar-widget/

The alternative is to raise a feature request on Trac https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/

Hi I use the Buddypress widget login on my site.

I’m using the latest Buddypress & WordPress version.

It doesn’t have a lost password link, how can I add this?
What else do I need to do to set this up? Is there a form accessible for this in buddy press?

    Thank you.

    Found the solution:

    Custom Login URL

I’d still rather do it manually rather than using another plug in

finally it worked ! Couldn’t get the plugin to work. What I did is super simple in the end :

This guy created some code to add in functions.php

And then you’re good to go, you can use a shortcode with an iframe to embed anything in the group description !

There’s a number of plugins that allow moderation, it’s not a feature built into BuddyPress by default.

    for example – https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-toolkit/

    Hello,
I’m working on my WordPress web site and I want to import groups (with groups type as possible) with a csv file or other I can create. The file will come from another database in which I have a lot of data, and I want to transform that data in groups.
I’m working on the theme BuddyBoss with BuddyPress.
Does someone know how to do that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Felix

Hi there, a public message in a private site is simply a message that appears in the activity feed and includes an @mention notification. The public won’t see it but all members of the site will be able to see it. But if you want to remove that option you could look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-messaging-control which would allow you to remove that feature by user role. It would simply prevent the @mention from notifying the target user.

Hello! I’m brand new to Buddypress and WordPress. I’ve set up a site but I can’t View any of my Buddypress pages. I am being redirected to the Access Restricted page. I have checked that none of the pages are Private or Password Restricted. Further, I am set up as an Admin and Keymaster on my site. Any suggestions for how to troubleshoot? Thank you!

Thanks for the answer. Sorry I made a mistake, Themosaurus support may have say there is the same issue for standard wordpress theme…confused

    Hi @icharme,

After switching theme to the default one (Twenty Nineteen), it seems that this issue comes directly from BuddyPress, another plugin or your server.
Unfortunately, we have no clue. ????‍♂️

As this issue is related with the BuddyPress plugin, it’s best if you try to reach the plugin authors.
They will be more informed and better suited to help you.

To go further, we invite you to post your request on their support forums:
    https://buddypress.org/support/

We remain available for all support requests related with the use of your theme.

    Best,

    Thanks for replying.

If I deactivate buddypress the login menu disappears. I assumed it was core BuddyPress functionality.

Looking down the list of other plugins I can’t see another plugin that can provide that functionality.

Here is a screenshot to the pop-up which appears on the registration page if I click the login link.

    FYI

    WordPress Version: 5.2
    BuddyPress Version: 4.3.0
    Theme: OneCommunityVersion: 3.2.1

    Is this a theme issue?

    Thanks very much.
