Topic: Redirect After Registration
I need help figuring out how to redirect users to their custom profile page after they register. I’m running WordPress 3.0.1 and BP 1.2.6. I have the activation email feature turned off. So once they click the button to submit the registration form, I want them redirected to their custom profile page I have built. Currently, they’re directed to the home page. I’ve looked through the register.php page, I’ve tried adding a hidden input field with a redirect to the registration form and tried adding redirect functions that hook into bp_after_register_page, but no luck.
Thanks for any assistance you can lend.
Topic: Buddypress RSS feed
hi,
Tried to find RSS scroller/ticker for my BP 1.2.6 installation.
Checked appr. 10 plugins from wordpress.org and have to conclude that no one works. Is there some big difference between WP and BP RSS feeds?
Almost all of plugins work on the base of url. Here’s something I would like to share. This edit was done in the header.php file of buddypress to hide the Nav Bar from guests and displays WordPress pages only.

yoursite.comwith the URL of your site 🙂 Cheers!Hi everyone,
I currently have a WordPress.org blog with an integrated installation of BBPress on a Litespeed server.
I’d like to incorporate Buddypress into this but I’m concerned about potential problems.
Has anyone else made this move? What’s the best way of going about it? Any thoughts/tips/advice appreciated.
I’ve tried setting up a fresh installation of WordPress in a subfolder (mysite.com/buddypress) to see BuddyPress in action and get some experience of using it but it doesn’t seem to work properly when you do that – whenever I click on anything I get 404 errors.
So I’m in the dark a bit here and could use some help.
I’ve incorporated Buddypress into an existing WordPress installation. I am hoping to have both users who post blog entries with members who post in forums like this. Is there a way of giving some Buddypress members the privilege of posting on the blog?
I’ve tried to find some guide as to the relation between back-end users, found only on the dashboard, and buddypress members in the forums. Nothing has come up yet. It would be good to understand how they are related.
I am hoping that all the WP users can be also Buddypress members – do they need to register twice for this?
Thanks for the advice.
Topic: Intro page
Ok so I appologise in advance for my question as I am sure some of you will think it is silly. I am a novice and whilst I have used wordpress for some time, I am new to MU and buddypress in particular.
I want to create a site similar to Edublogs (as so many do I hear you cry!!) but my question is simple.
When I install buddypress on MU, I obviously have to activate the plugin. The main site should then be formatted with an appropriate template I presume.
The question is, how do I best create start pages that are simple in design and explain what we offer? The home page can be set to any that I want but I want it to look nothing like a blog itself…
In effect I want to make the main website http://www.community1stop.com the start page for people to then sign up to being able to use buddypress and other associated plugins.
Does this make any sense or am I rambling
?
