I can confirm this problem. I am having the same issue. No bbpress installed. If I change the sorting options from Newest to anything else the members show up but not if loading the members list the ‘normal way’ without changing sorting options.

Ok, I went in to update the template pack and it was using legacy, so I switched the option to Nouveau.

Still nothing on my side. Blank areas under any plugin tab on the profile template.

This includes, Event Manager, Invite Anyone, Buddypress Docs, BBpress, and Buddyboss Media plugins. Core buddypress profile components still load their content under their respective tabs.

If you would like me to send you admin access to the site to see for yourself, let me know what email to register, and communicate the pw to you with.

    Thanks!

Having read several posts, it remains to be unclear as to the best practice of BuddyPress links in non-root sites of a sub-domain multisite installation where BuddyPress is installed on the root site. Not clear on what links/URLs to use on regular menus (i.e., not the Admin bar). bbPress Widgets are fine. But unclear on links, if going the menu route. Please advise.

    Hello, everyone!
After I have filled the registration form WP redirects me to the Homepage. In users list (Dashboard) I don’t see new user too.
Steps which I tried to resolve the problem:
    1) WP in simple mode, not WPMS
    2) Dashboard – Settings – checkbox “Users can register” checked
    3) Disabled all plugins and checked BuddyPress registration function
    4) Changed theme to another one. (I use OneCommunity theme by default)
    5) Installed WP Mail SMTP (tried to send messages via php wp_mail & smtp). Both variants work for WP, also checked to send messages via Contact form 7 etc. BUT not sending any mail from BuddyPress
    6) Tried to reinstall BuddyPress plugin, still not working
    7) There is no hosting problems too…
    8) I don’t see another user accounts in Users dashboard.
    9) Switched between old and new BuddyPress templates…
    10) Additional information:
    – WP version 4.9.8
    – BuddyPress 3.1.0
    – Activated plugins (15): Anti-Spam by CleanTalk, bbPress, BuddyPress, Contact Form 7, No Category Base (WPML), OneCommunity Shortcodes, UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore, UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore, Wordfence Security, WP Mail SMTP, WP Sitemap Page, WP-Polls, WPBakery Page Builder, Yoast SEO Premium, WP Recaptcha Integration.
    11) There is no any php errors (when I enable debug) and js errors in browser console.

    I can’t find another reason why didn’t registration form not working…. Domain – barbiusa58.info
How I can fix it? Thanks in advance)

Update: After some further testing i could pin down the issue. Seems like the problem is the
GD bbPress Tools Plugin causing all of this on my site.
Will see what i can do about it…

I have several groups in my buddypress community, and each of these groups have their own bbpress forum.

I would like all group members to receive buddypress notifications for all activity related to the respective group’s bbpress forum (new topics, replies), even if they are not subscribed to the forum and even when they are not involved in the conversation or created the topic.

Is there a way to do that with little coding?

Sounds like you should use a forum like bbPress (bbpress.org) instead of a profile-centric option like BuddyPress.

I am on the latest version (3.1.0) of bbPress and I have enabled Reply Threading in the Settings; however, my replies are still showing at the same level as the original message.

Is this an issue with the latest version or is there something else I need to do to enable it?

the line esc_html__( ‘%1$s started the topic %2$s in the forum %3$s’, ‘bbpress’ ) presents the phrse “started the topic in the forum” to WP translation as part of the bbpress translation component. This means that you can create you own translation (alternative text) for the bbpress string using poedit and maybe WPT Custom MO File in order to get your system to use your translation for your site.

See https://codex.buddypress.org/translations/ and https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/customizing/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/ obviously these pages are for BuddyPress, not bbPress but it’s the same principle.

    Hi,

i am looking to change a line of code, line 421 of bbpress/includes/extend/buddypress/activity.php from

    $activity_text = sprintf( esc_html__( ‘%1$s started the topic %2$s in the forum %3$s’, ‘bbpress’ ), $user_link, $topic_link, $forum_link );

    to

    $activity_text = sprintf( esc_html__( ‘%1$s created the post %2$s in %3$s’, ‘bbpress’ ), $user_link, $topic_link, $forum_link );

i am unsure of how i can edit this function inside my child-theme, i have attempted to recreate the directory structure with no luck, and do not want to particularly edit the plugin folder for obvious reasons.

I am rather new to wordpress development etc, so any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Shaun.

    Hello,

I have just installed BuddyPress (and bbpress) on my WordPress site in order to create a community site (for the moment only localhost).

I wanted to check the security of all my site, and thus installed WP Authenticity Checker. I was surprised to discover a lot of “Malicious code found”. Most of them are beginning with “base64…”. But I don’t understand how to correct all the “malicious code”. Can someone help me ?

    I join some screenshots.

    Hi,

Is it possible to change the text of the Register Button from ‘Register’ to ‘Join us’? I’d also like to have the destination when the button is clicked to be a page with an AgileCRM form form, instead of either the BuddyPress or PMPro form (both of which I’m using). The reason for this is that I initially need new sign-ups to go straight into AgileCRM for manual approval, after which their user account will be manually created on WordPress by an admin, and the new user details emailed.

Ideally I’d like new users to complete sign-up and be manually approved, whilst at the same time their details being sent to AgileCRM and a new contact created. I’ve tried this but even though I’ve set new sign-ups for manual approval, a new account is created (albeit with limited access), and they are immediately logged into the site. I cannot see a way to change this.

I also tried using Zapier to pull new users into AgileCRM from WordPress but that too didn’t seem to work, event though when going through the testing stage it created a record in AgileCRM.

I’m using PMPro because the client is looking to take online payments for sign-ups in the future, and want to retain the functionality and option to use the PMPro register page in the future.

    Current set-up:
    WordPress – 4.9.7
    Theme: Boss Child Theme
    Plugins:
    Agile CRM – v1.1
    All-in-One WP Migration – v6.72
    bbPress – v2.5.14
BuddyBoss One Click Installer – v1.0.6
    BuddyBoss Products Updater – v1.0.2
    BuddyPress – v3.1.0
    BuddyPress Docs – v2.1.0
    BuddyPress Follow – v1.2.2
    BuddyPress Global Search – v1.1.9
    Hide Admin Bar From Non-admins – v1.0
Import Users from CSV – v1.0.0
Page Builder by SiteOrigin – v2.7.3
    Paid Memberships Pro – v1.9.5.3
Paid Memberships Pro – Add Member Admin – v.4
Paid Memberships Pro – Advanced Levels Page Shortcode Add On – v.2.4
Paid Memberships Pro – Approvals Add On – v1.0.4
Paid Memberships Pro – bbPress Add On – v1.5.5
Paid Memberships Pro – BuddyPress Add On – v1.1.1
Paid Memberships Pro – Email Templates Add On – v0.7.1
Paid Memberships Pro – Membership Manager Role Add On – v.3.1
    Regenerate Thumbnails – v3.0.2
    SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle – 1.12.1
    The Events Calendar – v4.6.20.1

Please let me know if you need any further information.

    Thanks in advance.

BP essentally uses the same login as WordPress, there’s a lot of ways of customising it though, depending on your knowledge. There’s various custom login plugins, including Theme My Login, which allows you to change a lot of the login functionality.

    BuddyPress provides the following
    Extended User Profiles
    Groups
    Messaging
    Friends
    Activity

Forums can be added to groups if you install bbPress.

For standalone forums you only need bbPress
