Hello –

I’m familiar with the “Load Newest” feature of the Activity Feed, and I’m familiar with Brajesh Singh’s “BuddyPress Activity Comment Notifier” plugin. I’m also aware of BuddyPress’s email feature that will send an email to a user who has received a comment on their activity feed post.

I’m not a developer, but as best I can tell the “Load Newest” feature loads only Post Updates, not new comments on any existing posts in the activity feed. Is this the intention?

If I am a user who posts an update like, “Has anyone traveled to Japan?” and others start commenting on it – is it correct that without the “BuddyPress Activity Comment Notifier” plugin or without relying on email notifications of comments, that I would have to refresh my activity feed to see when other users have commented on my post?

If I’m understanding things correctly, does anyone know if dynamic refreshes of all activity feed content are a recognized holy grail for BuddyPress? Facebook has set a high standard for this sort of thing, I realize. I’m just wondering if those of us building communities on BP should even “hope” for that level of dynamic content.

Hello, i am finding a trouble with applying buddypress system to a new theme (AppPresser).

If you could please see the attached images, there are the nav-sub components i have indicated.

The above image is the normal operation from my web-theme(not the theme i am having trouble with)

For example, in profile tab, i normally would see base profile, edit and change avatar but i don’t see them.

Where can i find the sources of those components in buddypress ?

I think i need to override the correct buddypress templates to a new theme but i can’t seem to find the route to find the right templates for those.

I do have the nav-menus of BP but underneath each nav-menu, those sub-components are missing.

Please help, any advice would be really appreciated!

I am setting up a page where I need mostly neutral terms and string, because of my clients. Since CONTACT is the generic term for FRIENDS, I would suggest to change associated strings within BuddyPress. In future releases a CONTACT can either be FAMILY related, CLOSE FRIEND related, FRIEND related, BUSINESS related or BLOCKED related (or whatever). Just an idea.

friendship requests = Contact Request
Friendship = Contact
Friends = Contacts
Friend = Contact

Hello = trying to add a tab that will show to the logged in user on their profile only. Have used the bp_is_my_profile() as below but the tab still shows to all users on all profiles. Can anybody point out what I’ve done wrong?

I am using buddypress on my website, and when a user send’s a message its shows the real name of user and not the username, i want it to be username. I did go through the code for messages in bp-messages-template

But this shows it is picking up username and not the real name. Can anyone tell me where to make a change so that it displays the username and not the real name of person.

is there a way to do this so that all the menus will work as they should when logged in?
the buddypress loops aren’t applying when I add them manually.
