ParticipantOK, here’s what I can offer in the way of isolating the problem.
I wanted to see if it was my server or any changes I made to the theme. It was not!
I went ahead and did a completely fresh restall of everything. When i got wordpress multisite with buddypress working again, I did not have a problem with editing the topics.
Then I brought in my custom theme files: Again nothing was off, everything worked as it should in editing topics.
It was only when I brought in my database of existing users and content did I get the 404!
So it is something wrong in the database.
What in buddypress would cause topics to 404 based on something off in the database?

Permissions: Ok there may be something here. I can access the ftp of the live site host and I just noticed something.
I can give the uploads directory all permissions (write read execute: 777) however wordpress will create a dir for a new user avatar (uplaods/avatars/59 for ex) but it cant upload files inside it. Apparently any directory I create with the ftp user has a different owner than the directories created by wordpress itself and even though permissions are set to 777 wordpress is giving me a write permission error when trying to upload any new avatar.

I would to accomplish this:We need Buddypress to share user account data between few subdomains.
My setup would be:
Fr.mydomain.com
En.mydomain.com
De.mydomsin.comWhat I need is:
-One wp multisite installation
-Same user database / accounts, so user can access al subdomains with one account
-Other buddypress language for each subdomainThat’s exact.y what you are building, right?
Any help to get me started would be highly appreciated!
Can you please tell me which steps to take in which order?Thanks a bunch..

activity items do not link to users page, think of them as single blog posts

ParticipantI forgot to mention that when he did add that code to the header thats when we lost the pages.

ModeratorAre the dir permissions and owner the same on both the test and live sites ?
In wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-settings do you have this checked: “Allow registered members to upload avatars” ?
Have you tried to change an avatar and did it appear in the expected dir ?

ParticipantYes, actually you can try almost all avatars, you can inspect element on the test site and see the address and just substitute the domain name. e.g:

ParticipantThanks for the replies.
Guess I was hoping there would be an aspect of buddypress or s2member which allowed users to pay for ads or other content. But I think i’m looking for a basic wp e-commerce plugin instead.

Participantbuddypress and bbpress (which i would argue shouldn’t even be thought of as separate plugins even though they technically are as they meant to work together) have you covered on the first 2 bullets the other stuff would require other solutions layered on top of wp/bp/bbp. said solutions could be plugins themes or even something a simple as a process you implement (such as using embedded services like google calendars). for what it’s worth i wouldn’t worry about adding s2 member to the mix did that once for a client was pretty strait forward.

Fatal Error:Call to undefined function bp_get_groups_root_slug() in /home/*******/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-toolbar/buddypress-toolbar.php
The whole site is just junk at the moment…. please help!
