Participantto the group,
I am running WordPress 3.6 and BuddyPress 1.8.1 and have the exact same problem as above. When I fill out the Registration Form and his submit, it just blanks out my “Confirm Password” field and re-displays the form with the original data that I entered. I have tried changing the Twenty Twelve or bp-default themes, but no luck. Any thoughts?
thank you!

ParticipantI was having the exact same problem (BuddyPress 1.8.1 & WordPress 3.6). I found a solution: I turned off “Show the Toolbar for logged out users” under the Buddypress settings. It seems that the image mapping for menus may get misaligned when that setting is activated (or possibly some other conflict)
All of my menus work again on the iPad & iPhone 🙂 It should work for you too.

Members can post from front-end: http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-simple-front-end-post/
Maping post types, markers, etc
Study this plugin or his pro version (very expensive $15 !)

ParticipantI assume it links to the default wordpress directory since I followed instructions about allowing avatars to display and I had to look into WP Settings > Discussion.

ParticipantJetpack->WordPress.com Stats->Configure->Put a chart showing 48 hours of views in the admin bar.
Then go to Settings->General and see what New User Default Role is set as.
Anyone other than subscriber will see the stats. You will have to go back and change the subscriber settings for anyone that registers.September 1, 2013 at 8:54 pm #170728In reply to: [Resolved] Need activation key???

ParticipantYes BP Activity Plus works well. Thanks. (sorted a recent hiccup – it was just a silly mistake by me!)
Possible other options include rtMedia https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-media/ and previously there was buddypics.
Communication, now, with photos/video etc is just exploding-its now just a huge part of online social interaction.
While i am truly appreciative of the countless developers and whole open-source eco-system that produces the plugins – sometimes developers, even commercial developers, move on to something else and the particular plugin does not get upgraded or does but months later.
Technically also as BP Activity Plus puts uploads into its own bpfb folder the links will not persist if the plugin is deactivated.
For niche functionality perhaps this is not so important but for a major functionality like say photo uploads my two cents is that it might be worthwhile for buddypress (as social interaction is its core) to have it built in. Its just to future proof it.
Am not talking about 1.82 but say aim for after 1.90
The p2 theme which i suspect the core devs might use quite a bit is a reasonable functioning template
(However, all this could be hugely difficult with Buddypress – I just haven’t a clue )
If it was in my hands (now i really am getting way above myself here) I would add “Add Media” and Map/Location (my p2 example – at http://trulysuperb.com/
Anyway I will put something up on the trac.
While i’m here – thank you @mercime for the huge lots of help in this forum and the wp forum over the years.

@mercime
Participant@famous You can limit who views the members directory page to the Site/Super Admin only by surrounding the members directory section using is_super_admin https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_super_admin then either echo message that the section is restricted or just redirect non-Admin users to another page if visitors try to use the members slug in your site.

Participant@afjsystem confirming issue exists. There’s a trac ticket for this https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5105

@mercime
Participant@fideldonson no problem
Backup all tables in site’s database and you’re fine. But also check if there’s a bp-custom.php file in wp-content/plugins/ in server, and back that up if there’s one.
You can remove the status update box in different ways. It just depends on whether you’re using a WordPress theme or BP Default child theme.

ParticipantWhile creating WordPress blog you would have to manually add the categories and tags and after this it will appear in the activity stream.

When the blog is created, a notice is placed on the member activity page (http://plymouthhomestories.com/activity/) but when the posts are published…I get nothing.

ParticipantHello,
I’ve got again a problem with the Logon. Not always, but more often is me when I try to log on a white page displays the following:Error 403 blocked. blocked. Guru Meditation: XID: 2439522794 Varnish cache server
About http://schwimmbad.so/wp-admin/edit.php (after a lot of reading found on the net) I can log in normally. If I then log out and gone through the normal registration is the problem for a while and eventually the problem comes back. Whether I log in as admin or as normal user.
I’m using the latest wordpress with buddy press, bbpress and some other plugins.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME DA?
A Thanks for your answers in advance.Kapi

MemberYou could use the WordPress conditional
is_page()to check if the user is on the activity or members page:if ( is_page('members') || is_page('activity') ) { } else { }Note: I’m assuming you haven’t changed the default slugs

ParticipantThanks! It worked! I can´t believe that I spent almost four hours trying to figure this out and all I needed was to set the parent slug and url.
I moved the Buddypress member templates to my theme, inside a directory named Buddypress just because I needed to do some heavy tweaking. This way the templates stay with the main theme and since I uploaded BuddyPress from WordPress control panel, I don´t have permissions to make changes to the templates. I can use the internal wordpress plugin editor, but that would drive me crazy.
Do you think that moving the templates to the main theme is wrong? Is there a better way to make changes to the templates code? Buddypress template system is like ancient chinese to me.
Thanks again!
Enrique

MemberIt is easily done. You’d need to create a new page template:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Page_Templates
You can then use a modified members loop inside the page template you create:
