Topic: Town Based Social Network
I want to create a town based social network site. Users join the site and then are prompted to join their town. This way instead of creating whole new communities users will basically be joining a social online version of their town. The towns page will then have a calender where community events will be listed and a discussion board for town members to discuss things going on in the town. I was wondering if I could get some help setting up such a site using wordpress and buddypress!
hi people, i’ve just installed Buddypress on my Windows server and i realized that all of the components are missing even though i’ve enabled it already.. When I clicked on any of the tabs (activity, forum, etc), it shows that the “page is not found”. Anyone had this problem before?
Wordpress version: 3.0.2
BP version: 1.2.6Hi,
I would like to integrate Facebook connect to my buddypress website suing the wordpress plugin which is available here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-facebookconnect/installation/
Please let me know in which all files all I need to add the code for connect button to appear.
or Is there any buddypress specific plugin availabel to do facebook integration?Social networking in a box. Build a social network for your company, school, sports team or niche community all based on the power and flexibility of WordPress.
BuddyPress will let users register on your site and start creating profiles, posting messages, making connections, creating and interacting in groups and much more.
Topic: New Users Cannot Register
I hope this is the right section to post this, if not please feel free to move it.
I am using BuddyPress 1.2.6 on the latest version of WordPress MU. And I installed BuddyDev’s Cosmic Buddy theme on to it. It seems to work fine for the most part, but there is one problem that comes and goes. It seems like new users are unable to register. This problem occured to me a few days ago once and I realized that it was caused due to a plugin malfunction, so I uninstalled that plugin and it worked momentarily.
Now, the problem’s back and new users are unable to register, yet again. I am sure that I havent installed any new plugins recently and cannot seem to find a reason for this at all. Whenever new users try registering, the page does not complete registration, it just bounces back to to the registration page.
This is becoming a huge problem for me so any help will be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much.

http://www.deshirhymes.comEverything is set in the new BuddyPress community site for my company, however I am running into an error during the avatar image upload process for both users and groups and am hoping someone else has run into this or knows what might be going on. The upload itself works, but when it gets to the screen where you crop and preview your image I am just getting blank boxes with a red ‘X’, no error message. You can click the crop button and it completes the process, however the image is not cropped and usually does not look anything like it should.
I’m running WordPress 3.0.2 on a Windows server and BuddyPress 1.2.6 with the default BuddyPress theme.
Thanks in advance!

I know admins have a long standing problem getting BP and MU to play nicely together. I am building a network of sites for which I would like to take advantage of the expanded profiles that BP offers. The sites have operated a silos in the past (isolated installations) but we want to get away from this and allow users to visit all sites with the same login the same way I can create a login on wordpress.org and use it on buddypress.org.
While I am new to WP and BP, I have many years of coding experience. After looking through the code I believe that BP is not evaluating the BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE variable for both the admin bar and the header. I am just not sure where that evaluation should take place. I would appreciate the input from someone with more knowledge of how all the BP and WP code fits together.
Another issue I am experiencing is that the stylesheet for the admin bar is not getting added to the on the primary site.
Again, anyone’s help is greatly appreciated. If I figure it out myself I will be happy to share the solution.
Topic: .html on pages
Does anyone know if the plugin ‘.html on pages’ works in buddypress?
I have it on all my WordPress 3.0 blogs with no problems, so do you think it should work w/bp too?
Look on this page, my plugin is hijacked (probably not on purpose):
http://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/Locate the plugin: “Fast Secure Contact Form” (this is my plugin, I am the author)
Why is the URL for it linking to a different plugin? “BuddyPress Groupblog”
The slug is correct, so why does it load the page for “BuddyPress Groupblog”
http://buddypress.org/community/groups/si-contact-form/The wordpress URL is fine:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/si-contact-form/If someone at buddypress.org can fix it, that would be great!
