What has happened is, after setting up my multi site theme w/ the help of host gator – the buddypress avatars are not showing up on these sub themes. Host gator informed me to modify my htacess file:

RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-content/uploads/$1 [L] <-New'When I did this, the avatars began to work, but then the rest of the site wasn’t acting properly. So I have changed it back to:

I have tried several times and come to the same result.
If I have a Swedish installation and install buddypress by wp’s own installation or manual, the result is the same. When activating the plugin i get the message that I am not autorized to activate plugins. After this I pretty much loose all right everywhere and cannot login to the backend. Buddypress never activates. Removing the folder buddypress under plugins restore wordpress. Edited wp-config.php and set language to en_EN. Everything works great.

At both those lines if you replace:
if (!propertyOrVariable)
with
if (empty(propertyOrVariable))
the notifications go away…. Hopefully these changes can come in with a new version.

I’m having an issue when I click on links in Members, groups or Member Blog pages. (the.item-list li links and page numbers links according to the css.) For example with the members page, if I click on “my friends” or “following” nothing loads up. It just stays blank, but if I refresh the page it shows up with the accurate info such as the members names or the new page number. Any ides on what could be causing this. I deactivated all the plugins and switched to the BP default theme but I still had the same issue? I’m using Linux server, Buddypress 1.2.6, WordPress MU 3.01, Apache version 2..2.9 and
PHP version 5.2.6. Any help is appreciated.Last time I was into Buddypress, I could set the user roles to Admins, Mods etc etc etc!
But, now, I cant find a way to do that!
Wordpress just shows the default user groups! (Admins,Subscribers etc!)

I’m setting up WordPress 3.0.2 with the latest release of buddypress locally to test it out for a possible web project and I’m having some trouble with using an existing bbpress install. I used this method to hide buddypress group forums in my bbpress install, and it worked great, with one glaring problem that I’m not sure if it’s due to the overall method or the hidden forum plugin. The problem is two-fold.
First, this part: ` define ( ‘BP FORUMS PARENT FORUM_ID’, 3 ); `
Which is supposed to make buddypress put all forums created by groups in the group category with the id of 3 is not working at all. However, even if I manually put these group forums into the proper category, the hidden-forums plugin is hiding the category, but not the forums within it.
Any ideas?

I am a wordpress blogger. I am all new to Buddypress and experimenting something new! I have 4 queries listed. Pls answer the below points based on your understanding.
1) Why FRIENDS item is not in the COMMUNITY drop down page in the top menu bar? I can see only Members, Activity and Groups. I would like if Friends, Messages be added here!
2) Can’t I have Photos, Videos section as we have Friends and other stuffs?
3) How to add “Invite friends” section besides other other sections such as Friends. I assume existing FRIENDS in my network can invite outsiders via e-mails.
Here comes the most important question according to me!
4) How about moderation of entire messages, posts and many things around here?? Is it possible for administrators to go each and every page? How to solve this difficulty? Is their any ready-made plugins available?
Please help me to accomplish my tasks.

Hi guys. Just downloaded Buddypress, excited to get it up and running. With it’s success I’ll convert my main site from Mingle. But I have an issue. As soon as I activated on a site I was slapping together (hopefully to be big), I immediately got this SQL errer and it’s locked me out of user-interface with the site completely:

PS, could this be because I’m stubborn and am using WordPress 2.9 and not 3? I want to wait for all my favourite plugins to update or be reinvented.
