KeymasterIf you’re running BuddyPress 1.5+, go to Appearance > Custom Header in wp-admin, and I’m pretty sure there’s a “remove” button

ParticipantI”m so sad that this plugin isn’t being updated any more, I really like the activity stream comments in the forum posts, it is AWESOME, but since BP 1.5 upgrade, the ‘READ MORE’ link to expand activity stream comments doesn’t work when trying to expand them inside the group forum

ParticipantWell I’ve just done it ( https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/5227 ) and the issue seems to be fixed!
Unfortunately it means changing the lines in the `/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-catchuri.php` file
This edit will be overwritten when buddypress is upgraded, and buddypress may have further revisions to 1.5* before 1.6 (with the fix) hatches so take notes in case you have to re-do it!
Make sure you back everything up before trying the edit!

Participantedit – missing slash was only obscured in code. htaccess looks fine. deactivate s2member plugin and change to default theme, then run settings > Permalinks.

– What version of BP were you trying to activate in your installation? If you installed/upgraded to BP 1.5.1, did you go through the “Installation Wizard”
– How did you make your WP theme BP-compatible – via BP Template Pack plugin or other method?
– Are you on single WP or WP Multisite?
– I see that you have your Group Forums on as well http://richard-dickinson.com/forums/
– For the Sitewide Forums, did you add new forum in wp-admin > Forums > New Forum at least once?October 24, 2011 at 11:16 pm #122246In reply to: Updated my BuddyPress and now nothing works

KeymasterThe fix in that ticket is going to be included in BuddyPress 1.6. You’d need to edit the file(s) and make the changes manually

Keymaster500s are internal server errors. Check your web server’s error logs (or ask your web host to do that for you).

KeymasterAnd I’m closing this thread, too. This sort of discussion does not benefit anyone.
To recap: There are known issues with BuddyPress.org. John Jacoby is working to address them. BuddyPress.org is never, and has never, been representative of a “demo” of BuddyPress; after all, it’s the project’s main website.
http://testbp.org is a demo site, however, and is frequently updated to the latest, cutting-edge version of BuddyPress.

MemberOn a similar thread I was told that there was some sort of “retrofit” going on and that I should check the buddyPress demo site.
I checked the buddyPress demo site and there was absolutely no information regarding the buddyPress forum bugs. However, the thread I started got locked so I could not respond.
Might be worthwhile putting your comments over on the wordpress plugin forum for buddyPress so people know what they’re getting.October 24, 2011 at 8:48 pm #122234In reply to: Updated my BuddyPress and now nothing works

MemberI have the same bug in BP 1.5.1. To fix it I had to go to bp-members-template.php line 309 to replace the code with what @pcwriter posted. Should a ticket be made?

Memberhmmm… I think I might consider a completely separate install under a sub domain or separate path so I could also experiment with a completely different set of plugins, wordpress versions (like 3.3 beta), as well as themes. I am not familiar with MU to know if you can have such independence, for example, having two versions of buddypress installed at the same time.

October 24, 2011 at 10:38 am #123032In reply to: All activation emails going directly to SPAM folders
Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterIt’s neither the fault of WordPress, BuddyPress or Welcome Pack that your emails are filtered into spam folders. I suggest changing the content of those emails so that email spam services are less likely to flag the email as spam. There may also be server configuration changes you could make to help.

Participant@mercime Im using a small variation of the default theme. I’m referring to the members/single/home.php. It’s my understanding that the different member loops run through. It has the sidebar calls on it.
But what Im trying to do is have the normal 2 column for profile and a few others but I want a 3 column setup for the personal/friends activity pages.October 23, 2011 at 10:32 pm #122967mayhem3030
