InactiveWell, `bp_core_add_root_component()` is most likely responsible for creating the zillions of extra pages, so getting that sorted made my plugins work 70%, so it should be a good starting point…

KeymasterIt ought to continue to work. I don’t think we made any changes directly in the Group Extension stuff. If you can’t figure it out, check where you’re hooking into BuddyPress (try earlier) and/or report on BuddyPress.trac.WordPress.org

ParticipantI have not Upgraded because i am waiting for it to become a bit more reliable lol as when i tried to upgrade it broke my forums and BP install. So yes still those versions.
So far i have tried:
-Reverting to buddypress default theme
-Turning off all my plugins and reactivating them one by one. (both default and Default BP theme)
-Using BP profile as homepage ( which worked for the immediate login but when they click Home at the top they are seeming logged out until refresh again)I also turned on and off and cleared my cache and cookies and am still encountering this problem with myself and several other users.
any suggestions?

Participant== if I DON’T want users to have their own blogs? ==
Install BP on single WP== more of a Digg format where the suggestions with the most votes go to the top and vice versa. This would be on one page, and then users can vote on other pages of other topics with a certain amount of votes. ==
Check out the BuddyPress Like plugin – not exactly what you want but as a starting point.August 1, 2011 at 10:22 pm #117363In reply to: Message replies are sent twice

ModeratorHmm something doesn’t quite sound right there. Just as a sanity check are you testing using the default theme with noi plugins bar BuddyPress?

ParticipantUse multisite instead.
Don’t add another wp install in a subdirectory. Enable the network on the main site. you can hav sub dir sites with it and they share a userbase.

I hope someone will update the codex page later cause many links refer to it in forums, that’s how I found it in first place

ParticipantStudioPress has a paid plugin to make their Genesis child theme buddypress compatible. you can do the work manually as mercime has suggested, or you can get the plugin. ask them over there.

ParticipantOr, go back to using just bbpress and install a private messaging plugin if that’s all the extra you need?

Member@christophg Awesome! Can’t wait to have the time to look into it. Unfortunately my community is already over 200 strong, and counting! So unless I can make this idea work retro active it won’t work for my project. I plan to dig into my idea next week. (hopefully it happens this time!)
@imjscn For my communities needs a 5 star system is best. I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to mold my idea into a thumbs up/down system. Keep watching this thread, as I make progress I’ll post it here. You may also want to look in christophg’s idea if you have a young or new community.

Keymaster@pisanojm The BP_Activity_Template::__construct() problem has been fixed in the trunk; see https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3421 Thanks for the report.
@imjscn You should be prompted to run the wizard in a yellow message across the top of the Dashboard (or Network Admin, on Multisite). Or, underneath the Dashboard > BuddyPress menu, you should see a Setup button.

I thought for sure there would be a small filter we could use to remove links in ONLY ACTIVITY… but I guess not.

So I have been completely unable to install BuddyPress – it cripples my site every time I try. Any ideas of how I can do it successfully?
