    We have a website that is a Multi Shop, and a Buddy Press forum.

    The problem is, if you are a Vendor in the Shop, it seems to disable the ability to add a Photo to your BP Avatar Profile.

    Is there a simple fix for this? I’ve been able to assign various roles to one user, but it works only when they are *only* a Contributor.

    It’s created a big problem for us.

    We have a site in progress that has a multi vendor store, as well as a forum.
    But when someone can create a store they are a ‘vendor’, and this seems to throw an error when they try to upload an avatar. But if I add one as Contributor, it works.

    Is there some means in BP to enable multi userroles to use it??

    I have a forum that is linked to a group. I go to that group and view the forum inside of it.

    I am trying to remove the name of the forum on the index page that lists all the topics. I used CSS to remove it but it’s not working right.

    #bbpress-forums h2 {
    display: none;
    }

    This removes the title as I want but when I click on any topic it also removes the posters question 🙁

    Please review the screenshots I took

    Index page with the forum title

    A topic page with topic question
    https://monosnap.com/file/M3hhJhX7wW4on9Ym2s4ecMcFqmjHOj

    Does anybody know how to remove just the forum name when viewing the forum inside of a group?

    Using latest versions of WordPress and BP.

    Trying to understand how BuddyPress treats linked forums that contain sub-forums. I created a test and seems that if a linked forum has a sub-forum then the posts to that sub-forum are not displayed as that group’s activity. I created a test group. Linked a forum to it that has a sub-forum. Posted to the main forum and then the sub-forum. The group’s activity feed only shows the post to the main forum and not the sub-forum 🙁

    Can anyone confirm that is the case and if there’s a way to change that? I would love to have sub-forums and they are part of the group’s activity.

    What struck me as odd is that the main activity stream shows posts to both the main and sub-forum. It just shows EVERYTHING is seems like.

    Trying to understand what shows up in the main/global activity feed regarding groups. From what I understand the main feed will display ALL activity.

    What about groups that I have not joined yet? I thought it wouldn’t show but it did. My test was to create a public group with a forum attached to it. I joined it and then went to the forum sub-tab to post a topic. Checked the main feed and there it is. Makes sense.

    Then I logged in as a test user that has NOT joined that group. I thought I would NOT see anything from that group including the forum topic that was posted there. But instead, I saw the topic posting in the main feed 🙁

    I’m assuming if the group was hidden or private it would then not show anything in the activity stream if I posted to that group’s forum. Correct?

    Trying to better understand what shows up there.

    What would really help me would some way I can search out answers in the form “what do I need to hook or filter to do X?” I’ve found myself going to SO a lot with things I am stuck on.

    For me, BuddyPress is a giant black box of mystery.

    One suggestion I can make about this forum would be to get a few moderators tasked with “X not working” posts into one board as those crop up everywhere at the moment.

    Hi I am wondering if you could help? I am building a community website for local groups and artists. Would it be possible to use this plugin as a way to showcase portfolios. The idea is to integrate a forum using bb pressb for the everyone interested in engaging with the arts within our local community to help them find groups or courses whilst showcasing inspirational professionals too. Since many of our artists feel bogged down with their social media already I feel that a portfolio that doesn’t have to constantly be updated is essential. Thanks

    No reply at the events forum so far..
    So I tried to use a JavaScript snippet:

    var search = "#_LOCATIONLINK - #_LOCATIONADDRESS, #_LOCATIONTOWN";
    var replacement = "";
    document.body.innerHTML = document.body.innerHTML.split(search).join(replacement);

    And it works on a normal site. However, not on the buddypress profile where I want it. I think because the events section is a a subsection of the generated user site. So i can’t directly add this JS to the specific user sites. I put it in the snippets plugin which should work on all websites and also I used a snippets plugin for the highest parent side of the user profiles, but no success..
    Does anyone had this problem too or any idea how to fix it?

    Best regards

    Hi everyone,

    I have a strange bug that I have not been able to find a solution for, although I see in the forums others have had very similar issues I believe that these have been fixed many years ago.

    The Problem:
    ‘total_group_count’ value is in negative numbers for several users. Some up to -17. Using the “Repair total groups count for each member” tool does not fix these negative numbers.

    I could simply change all these values in the database but I think it will happen again and I would like to understand what might be causing this issue. I have gone through the database for ghost entries relating to groups and I have confirmed that the only entries that exist are for groups found on the website. I have also confirmed this is not theme related.

    The setup:
    BuddyPress Version 6.3.0, network installed on WordPress 5.5.3 multisite. Hosted by WPengine.

    If anyone can point me in any direction it would be really appreciated.

    Hey guys, I’ve scoured around google and this forum. Not sure if I simply don’t know what keywords to plug in but I haven’t found a solution. :-/

    My membership page is not working. When you go to the page, you’ll see this string of code:
    [kc_row _id=”852969″][kc_column _id=”404198″][kc_column_text _id=”130096″][edr_user_membership][/kc_column_text][/kc_column][/kc_row]

    I’m using the Avada WordPress 5.5.3 theme on my site with WordPress with BuddyPress 7.1.0

    Here’s a screenshot to help: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dfQirfgFrZVC4FiaFyxR7mtI0PotVQX0/view?usp=sharing

    Appreciate you taking the time to read this far. 🙂 Thank you!

    Hi,

    I see the password field is causing you some issues as you posted various times about it into this support forum. If you want to use the old way of setting the password and not the current WP way of doing so, here’s a gist about it: https://gist.github.com/imath/f50a3880159ed8267726684ff0e62398

    Hello,

    Some mathematical objects written in mathjax/latex use backslash (\). For example, one use \sqrt{} for the square root function, \mathbb{} for the set of numbers. In bbpress forums, these objects work perfectly but when the forums are displayed in buddypress activities streams, the backslash disappears and therefore the mathematical symbols are not rendered and make the texts difficult to read. If the texts are typed directly in buddypress side, things are also alright. So, the problem seems to be in the transition from forum to the buddypress activities.

    I tried some solutions but nothing work. So I am asking for help; how can I do to solve the problem

    Thank you in advance

    Wordpress 5.6.1
    Buddypress 7.1.0

    Regards

    Hi, These are the forums for BuddyPress and that very much sounds like an Events Manager issue, although as I use the plugin I’d recommend you check Events – Settings – Formatting – Default event list format

    I have a topic that I set as super sticky. Once I’ve set it as super sticky, the topic only appears in forums that don’t have a buddypress group assigned (regardless of the public/private/hidden nature). This seems to negate the super sticky notion of showing up in all groups. Is this a bug or behavior as it is supposed to be?

    Wordpress version is 5.6.1; Buddypress is 7.1.0, bbPress is v2.6.6. Site is wtf.chiaribridges.org ; see the behavior at https://wtf.chiaribridges.org/forums (you can look at each forum and see the ones with and without the super sticky).

    I’ve also posted on the bbPress site for help.

    Hey Jake,

    Thanks, I thought it might be a long shot as every chat/forum ended in a dead end. I reckon someone could make a tidy profit if they developed one, there’s definitely demand!

    Thanks also for the Simple Events validation; it was on my shortlist so I’ll give it a whirl now and see how we get on.

    Shot for the help, much appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Mike

    These are the forums for BuddyPress.
    afaik, your question is about bbPress; their forums are here.
    In the context of your screenshot, afaik, POSTS refers to forum posts.

    I had to delete the Login menu from the home page. Users can now only login at the forum site or classifieds site. WP support said it was a BP issue. BP says it a WP issue.

    Have you installed and activated bbpress as per https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ ?
    It’ll add the settings page to the Dashboard but there won’t be a tab within the buddypress settings.

    Hi there,
    here’s an interesting issue for which we could use thoughts from all of you.
    The problem is buddypress. That is, a “FORUMS” Tab is not showing up in wp admin backend. – Pls see attachments.

    I believe there should be a “forums” tab in the backend, but it isn’t there.

    I have newest vers of buddypress. Have installed and deactivated, deleted plugin and reinstalled.
    Have deactivated ALL plugins and tested – No luck, the “Forums” tab is simply not there.

    We’re using divi child theme and have tried default theme. Still no luck…

    Hello, I’m currently using bbpress 2.6.6 and buddypress 7.1.0, (wordpress 5.6, php 7.4.12, theme is siteorigin-unwind 1.6.12), and experiencing this problem as mentioned here, (members of hidden groups not being able to see the topics of the sub-forum). I’m a newbie with the background code, though my private and public groups are working. I can see the fix for ticket 7443 in buddypress.js that was indicated then, and believe I’ve implemented it, but am wondering if other people still have a problem with this, and if so if there is another fix/workaround available. Thank you.

    I am using a customize theme. I don’t have any custom functions in bp-custom.php. Yes I know forum support is limited where third party themes are concerned but I can’t fix it.

    here is my buddypress activity page https://www.upsozluk.com/etkinlik/
    How can I fix the gap? There is no problem in mobile version of my website, but only computers have this space problem. i am using the latest version of wordpress

    Thanks!!
