Not 100% sure where I should be posting this but here goes.
I’ve set up a server specifically for inspired/openfire testing.
After install, the first problem that happens is that the right hand lower toolbar breaks after a while of being logged in. The remedy most of the time is to log off, refresh, log back in and it’s usually fine but not always. The next problem is updating. I’ve tried various combinations, all of which break wordpress and/or buddypress.
For example, I’ve tried updating wordpress only and eventually get into trouble where nothing runs anymore. Another is I’ve left wordpress as it is but updated all of the bp items and same result. At one point, I updated all items but wordpress and bp-album as either one would breka the site. I was able to get everything updated at one point but then it broke the lower toolbar.
The versions I am running are inspired-370-0.0.0.3 and Openfire 3.7.1.
Should I be posting my findings here or somewhere else? Finally, it appears to be that the toolbar is the only part which is ‘inspired’ and the rest is wp and bp. If that is the case, how can I check/test only the toolbar component.
One last question, how can I separate just the toolbar, without wp/bp? For example, I’d love to see that being stand alone on another web site. In other words, could that portion alone be integrated into another site?
Thanks.
Topic: WordPress Admin Bar
Hi,
I’m trying to get BuddyPress running on http://www.godlysocials.com, but get page not found for everything to do with BP.
For some reason the homepage doesn’t show the BP toolbar, but http://www.godlysocials.com/index.php/forum/ does. I can figure out later why that is.
On that forum page, if I click on the Sign Up toolbar option, it takes me to
http://www.godlysocials.com/register with a “The page cannot be found”.
The login menu option works though and logs me in using Simple Facebook Connect.Once logged in, if I go to the BP Profile menu option or any other option, it tries to take me to something like this:
http://www.godlysocials.com/members/servantheart/profile/ with a “The page cannot be found”.Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?
My user was created before I installed BP.
The theme is http://www.studiopress.com/themes/socialeyes
and I’m not using the BuddyPress Template pack. If I activate it, I get “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_dtheme_ajax_querystring() (previously declared in C:Domainsgodlysocials.comwwwrootwp-contentpluginsgenesis-connectlibajax.php:17) in C:Domainsgodlysocials.comwwwrootwp-contentpluginsbuddypressbp-themesbp-default_incajax.php on line 81”Much appreciated,
Dirk
Topic: Member Area Problems
Hi guys, I’m new here and in pretty desperate need of some help!
I am running a twentyten theme with buddypress add-ons… here – http://youareditched.com
I cannot access the individual member pages and the members list is there but doesn’t seem to work when changing pages. Also, (I’m sure it links) the toolbar only shows wordpress options not the pre-set site specific menus.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys!
Hi,
I have a student whose blog is missing the admin toolbar. It is not theme dependent, as a change in theme still has a missing toolbar. The same theme has the toolbar on other blogs. All other blogs are fine. Any ideas?
Topic: Quickest way to edit a post?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could suggest a way to help us do this better. We are teachers, and students often make spelling errors within their blog posts. As co-administrators of their blogs, we want to somehow highlight the words they’ve spelled incorrectly, as quickly as possible.
At the moment, we are going into the dashboard, finding the post, changing the colour of each misspelled word, then updating the post. Could it be done faster, as in through modifying the admin toolbar, or some other way?
Cheers,
Rob.Sorry to be vague here, but I’m terribly frustrated. I was able to create my Buddypress site (indiekidsproducers.net), but I am unable to make it work properly. I get various error messages or things I create simply disappear. I asked a friend who is more tech savvy to explore, and I will post below the string of errors she received before hitting the limits of her expertise. I forwarded her notes to my ISP – Network Solutions – who said it wasn’t their problem and that I’d have to contact WordPress/Buddypress…
Can anyone please make heads or tails of these errors and suggest how I might make repairs? Thanks very very much!
David

= page where one can click to chat on technical support topics during M-F business hours (see hyperlink in rightmost column), http://www.networksolutions.com/contact/index.jspOne issue I’ve run into that I can’t figure out, I installed WP into a sub directory on my server and buddypress is installed there as well. When a user clicks on the login button on the toolbar, they get re-directed to a 404 error page. The normal login would be http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/wp-login.php but when a user clicks on the login they go to http://www.mysite.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http://www.mysite.com .. I can’t seem to figure it out.. any thoughts?

Hello,
I’m having a new buddypress site with some friends (yocom.nl) and we are in a far stadium now but we miss some important things. Can you help us with any of these things?
– We want an option to insert smilies, images, spoilers etc in the forum messages? A toolbar would be nice.
– Is there an option that if you are in the forum index, you can go straight to the last page of a topic?
– Is there an option that you can see the recent topics (with the latest messages) in the sidebar?
– Can the administrators (in Dutch we are the ‘beheerders’) having a different name color or bold? Thanks already for your help
