The problem:
After a vanilla install of WordPress 2.9.2, and an automatic install of BP 1.2.3, when I navigate to some sections of the WP admin section (including Add New plugins, and General settings) the Buddypress Admin navbar gets whited out, and the pages don’t finish loading – so, for example, on the General settings page there is no way to submit changes, and on the Add New plugins the collection of plug-in tags doesn’t get loaded.
It doesn’t seem to be affecting the operation of the site in any other way, so I can live with it by fixing changes I want in General settings in the database instead – but it’s a bit worrying.
Any ideas as to what might be causing it would be gratefully received…
I’ve uninstalled and re-installed a couple of times, and have got exactly the same thing every time so far.
I’ve found many facebook plugins where we can make a post and have it pushed to facebook.
Are there any plugins that would create a post on my wordpress blog every time I post to facebook?
I found one that would sync the activity streams of facebook and buddypress, but that is not quite what I am looking for. If I can find one that creates new posts automatically then the activity stream would automatically be updated.
Topic: Comcast won't register
I’m not posting this as a support question because I don’t think it’s a buddypress or wordpress issue. I’ve had people try to register at two different sites (http://www.openadoptionsupport.com and http://www.supportforspecialneeds.com) hosted by two different hosts (OAS is at bluehost and SfSN is a virtualmin server at itx). When comcast users try to register, they don’t get an email and they don’t show up in the database (or the dashboard but that’s a given since they’re not in the database). I’ve tried changing the admin email thinking that was it but the deeper we got into it, the more we realized this isn’t on our end.
So I’m just curious. anyone else noticed this? Also at what point does WordPress create the account? At first I thought that comcast was just blocking the email but now with no record of a registration at all, I’m thinking the email isn’t even getting sent, which is why I thought it was a buddypress/wordpress glitch. But we can only replicate this with comcast and not that it’s happening on two totally different installs, I think it’s a wacky comcast issue.

Should one want to continue in that vein (via Settings > Reading > static home page), instead of creating the special template file home.php, he can:
1. Create a Page template, e.g. page-home.php and paste 2.a. or 2.b. within and upload to server.
2. Create a page called Home using the page template and publish.
3. Go to Settings > Reading > Static home page and choose Home.
4. Delete the link (forums or blogs or groups) from header.php navigation div to avoid duplication
Topic: Blog links not associating…
Just testing out Buddypress but basic functionality in WP mu isn’t working as there is no association between the member’s blog pages and the “Blogs” links in the tags in the default theme….

“activities” seem to work but most of the links simply do not link to the blogs or a listing of blogs as you’d assume- none of the blogs tabs work, more don’t from from the child blogs than the administrator’s blogs.
I’m using the blogs.domain.com format rather than domain.com/blog format but that should be considered (it is taken care of in WordPress Mu without Buddypress).
I’ve tried every option but there seems no setting to associate “Blogs” with “Blogs” as naturally you’d assume you shouldn’t need to!
What can I be doing wrong?

It’s for a network of artists. Each blog will be a specific art project, and each subscriber/author will be an artist participating in that art project. Many artists will be participating in many different art projects, and I’d like their bio information to be publicly displayed on each blog/project.
The blogs will be the public “portal” for each of the art projects, which we will us to promote the projects. The groups that are associated with each blog (with the group blog plugin) will be the internal communication tool for the artists.
I’d like all the subscribers/authors/etc (aka artists) for a given blog (aka art project) to be listed at the top of the blog’s index.php page, with a few fields from the xprofile (bio, specialty, etc.). Ideally, I’d get them to echoed in a way that was easy to feed into a snazzy jquery slider gizmo.

I’m trying to build a resource for these artists that is really 1 database with many faces, and given that I love wordpress, buddypress seemed like the best way to do that. It’s just stretching my abilities, at the moment
In wordpress, you can query posts and have a certain post or number of posts show up in a custom template.
Can I do this with groups in buddypress? Members?
