In reply to: Same Cover Update Across Network – Multisite

ParticipantHi @shanebp, @bowe, @modemlooper, could you help me?
I found the cover filter (bp_attachments_cover_image_upload_dir)
but I have no idea how to start:https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/6591/6591.04.patch
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,

ParticipantAfter rolling back to 1.7 and gradually updating each version, it appears it’s the update to 2.1 that’s the issue, as the templates are still loading fine with BP 2.0.3
Digging deeper, it seems that it’s the /plugins/buddypress/bp-core folder which causes the problem
Couldn’t track down the cause looking for clues in the changelog https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/version-2-1/
This line is a potential but i couldn’t understand the info from r8820 – “In bp_core_load_template(), only use locate_template for older bp-default themes (r8820)”

ParticipantIt can be an issue of wordpress installation of multisite and that causing conflicts with the buddypress. Not sure though.

zigsolutions
ParticipantThat was great thinking! I tried to enable 2013 with the change made to members-loop.php with no luck. It still shows the Activity.
The theme that I am using is not a true BuddyPress theme. It’s just a normal WordPress theme but I know that shouldn’t really matter for what we are talking about I don’t think.
I’ve also tried changing it in the bp-themes/bp-default/ which I believe is not really used anymore correct?
Thank you so much! Any other suggestions?

@mcuk
ParticipantHi @dave8528,
Replying to your q in the other thread here. Firstly if you aren’t already doing so, make sure whatever changes/amendments to code are done in a child theme if you aren’t doing so already (Google search WordPress Child Themes).
Just checked the code and it seems to be working fine. You may not be seeing the button if you have cover images activated on your profile pages? If you do, the file you want is “cover-image-header.php” The member-header.php is used when cover images aren’t active. Was just using it as an example location.

danbp
ParticipantNo worry about this “version update information”. It’s ok. MediaPress was last updated a week ago, so i guess it’s ok with WP 4.4.x and BP 2.4.x

ParticipantThank you. I looked at MediaPress but it says that the plugin has not been updated for my current version of WordPress. Is it OK to use a plugin like that? I would just worry that it may have a compatibility issue, etc.

Moderator…assumed that tweaking the 1, 3 will re-order the placement
Read this to learn what the
1, 3does.To insert your string into the action string, use str_replace.
Something like:
$job_title = '</a> <span class="job-title">' . ' | Web Developer' . '</span>'; $action = str_replace( '</a>', $job_title, $action);February 22, 2016 at 8:35 am #250156In reply to: Using Buddy Press to create a media sharing site

ModeratorYou can add functionality to BuddyPress using plugins. If a particular feature isn’t available as a plugin you could try implement it yourself or ask a coder for help. BuddyPress has a huge API that will help.
The look and feel of your website is governed by the theme you choose.
If you already have a dev site operational, try out some different plugins and themes to see which ones work best for your project.

Participant@alabius you can use This Plugin(Rename WP Login) or any other plugin that does the same work of renaming your Login. Of course it will still show you the WordPress Logo, then you can go ahead and customize it the way you want.

ParticipantHi,
i have several installs in french without any error at this level, so it’s difficult to tell you what’s going wrong for you.
If you have a local install, i would suggest
1) make a new test site and activate Twenty Thirteen or Fourteen. There should be only one user (you, as admin) at this stage. Once installed and workink, create a new user within admin, with subscriber status.
2) upload a new copy of BuddyPress and bbPress and add Bp Default Data plugin, with all data options enabled.
3) use WordPress in english for a first try. If ok, set it to french and re-testFebruary 19, 2016 at 10:03 pm #250094In reply to: Feature request: Last login

Ask on bbPress forum and read the documentation:

selenii
ParticipantThat saide to me the wpdiscuz support.
Ok, this is not a regular post or page, this comes from BuddyPress template file. It sees they don’t use the regular <?php comments_template() ?> function in activity template file. The only way to turn on wpDiscuz on buddyPress activity page is editing activity template file and changing its comment function to WordPress Theme standard <?php comments_template() ?> function.
