ParticipantHi! I’ve sent ‘Bahasa Indonesia’ translation via private message to @foxly.
Language: Indonesia (id_ID)
I just want to say thank you for this great bp-album.
Hope my community would love this feature (plugin) too
after my site officially launched someday.
note:
* Main BP ‘Bahasa Indonesia’ translator is @sofyand
* My alumni bp site (trial) is http://iluni-ftui.org/riwayat/

Participantbump … is there an admin bar language switcher for 1.2?
Please note, the .mo or .po files do not do the complete translation job, e.g. not /wp-reg.php etc.

Participant@DJPaul – Sorry. I’m just trying to keep things organized.
I’m trying to avoid making people working with translation to have to scroll through hundreds of posts of requests discussion to find an answer to a question like “Can you describe the concept of a cropped thumbnail versus a resized thumbnail so I can translate it into Spanish”
I can copy this discussion into the feature requests topic and you can delete this topic if you think it will be better. …

Groups will be *awesome* it will make organizing things soooooo much easier!
^F^
Re: *applies text-transform:lowercase* …. lol. . Too much RedBull before writing. Could you maybe edit the topic to lowercase for me… I think the all caps looks kind of unprofessional on second look.

Participant@_dorsvenabili – I’m glad you like our plugin.
There are actually two developers working on this plugin now, @francescolaffi, and myself @foxly; @francescolaffi is busy writing his exams right now, so I’m handling all the user support for the next few days.
BP Album is community-developed software! If you find it useful, please consider contributing code, translations, and ideas to the project. Helping answer new user’s questions on the forums is also helpful, because it means we have more time to work on writing code.
@hnla – Deciding how to dimension thumbnails, based on images with widely varying aspect ratios, and then present them in a grid, has been a problem that has dogged graphic designers since the earliest days of the Internet.
The two most popular way to do this are “Facebook Style”
http://foxly.ca/facebook-style.jpg
and “Flickr Style”
http://foxly.ca/flickr-style.jpg
I’m actually writing code for *both* options *right now*, and after some back and forth with @francescolaffi we’ll probably get it set up as an option in the administrator backend.
We could probably add the ability for users to manually crop the thumbnail for each picture in their gallery using the avatar cropping tool, and I will look at the feasibility of doing this. Experience has shown that most users do *not* want to do this for every picture they upload …and that’s why neither Facebook nor Flickr include this functionality.

ParticipantThanks everyone so far.
-I’ll look into the info you posted about displaying previews. Other people have suggested previewing. My main concern is kepping the UI clean. It’s been added to my list.
– Sorting is definitely on my to-do list
– I hadn’t thought of the per-group permission settings. I like it though. I’ll look into it.
– Thanks again for the French translation.
– I think at this point, the name is pretty ingrained. It would take a lot of code-rewriting to change it. I would encourage people to edit/create local translation files if they want to change the menu display text.

ParticipantHi Peter,
i have sended you the fr_FR translation by the usual way…
I have a question to you and all other users.
What do you think to call this plugin “bp-doclib” instead of “buddypress-group-documents” ?
DocLib is really shorter as Group Documents in the admin menu and more handy to use on a forum, like
“hey my doclib is going crazy”, instead of “buddypress-group-documents is….”…

+ 1 for me (even if DocLib (docutheque) is in use since 0.1.3 release on bp-fr.net)

ParticipantDutch translation is done, if you’d like, you could add it to your plugin.

http://www.xevodesign.nl/files/translations/plugins/bp-album/bpalbum_nl_NL.zip
I’d really appreciate it if you could test it on wp single.

ParticipantFinally a buddypress user gallery plugin that’s free and works with 1.2.
Just a question though, will it work with wordpress single, or isnt it tested with it yet?
I’ll do the Dutch translation by the way.

ParticipantFlorian, if you are german, you could just change the translation in the .po -file.
Open the german .po with po-edit, search the translations you want to change, and you have what you want.

Thanks for letting me know about the bugs, 0.0.7 fixes the ‘You do not have permission to do that.’ error you have been experiencing.
0.0.7 also fixes the issue of display options not being saved. However, it doesn’t address your other issues:
* “%user% likes an activity” type updates will not be translated into the custom version, as these have been saved to the main BuddyPress Activities table of the database *prior to the custom messages*. So I think the ‘untranslated’ activities you are seeing were made before you upgraded? That’s why they appear to be untranslated after you hit the ‘View more’ button.
* I cannot confirm the bug you noticed about ‘View more’ button not working; but I’ll do a bit of testing to find out!
* The ‘View likes’ button currently doesn’t appear on ‘mini’ activities, this is intentional due to styling problems, however that will be fixed in a later version.
The custom messages are not intended to be translations as such, but to allow site admins to change ‘like’ to ‘love’ or similar. This is just to allow flexibility. Localization comes from the defaults being provided in the desired language.
